We're doing who is contributing to the NHL at some point
- gerbe75pts

I know. But if there's a pool of 1000 Canadians to pick from, but only 200 Europeans, of course there's going to be more Canadians. How do you not understand that? Plus like I said about Europeans who only start playing in NA at 16 or 17 who really should be considered Europeans.

At 6:50, you said "I have to do some research"

At 6:57, you came back with fully compiled numbers over 8 years of drafts and determined 275 players were taken, and out of the 713 full-time, current NHLers, they were there.

My BS meter is off the charts

I started counting when I was doing the numbers when I posted it

That's kind of the point I'm trying to make that the CHL is important and you should draft them because that is the successful rate of the NHL..

You're not getting the point you can't completely ignore the CHL when half the players in the NHL are from there how does that make sense

I'm fine with taking overseas players but you can't take them all

- GERBE!!!75PTS

Where in this do you say "later rounds"? You just make poop up as you go. And nothing in this even slightly implies "later rounds", in fact when you say "half the players in the NHL are from [the CHL] how does that make sense." heavily implies you're talking about the entire draft.

Holy poop dude, you must've failed math. A larger group that produces more players might produce players at a lower rate than a smaller group that produces less players, so taking players from the smaller group would give you a better chance at getting a good player.

No, it was mostly the Blues and the Habs, but there was no way the Habs were giving up the 3rd overall for ROR. That was never going to happen.

Sexton seemed to make drafting philosophy clear No CHL Prejudice . Just how it worked out this year.

As point-man, Sexton took center stage at the post-draft media scrum and after being asked lightheartedly, "How's your Swedish?," in reference to the three Swedes taken by Buffalo, before he delved into some of the Sabres' draft philosophy.

"We don't draft by region. We don't draft by country," he said. "We scour the world for the best players that we can find that play a style that we want to play like going forward and then we work very diligently to learn as much as we can about them as human beings so that they map to our character criteria. We put them in the order that makes most sense based upon the highest probability to become a Sabre and we layer over a little bit of list management so that we can manage our list in a way that gets us the highest number of prospects at the highest part of the list we can get.

"This year it happened to fall that there were a lot of Swedes

I don't believe you did the leg work in 5 minutes, and I definitely don't trust your numbers

Five minutes after his post he went from 400 to 275. So you tell me how accurate he is šŸ™„šŸ™„

Like I said, making poop up as you go. You're pissed he passed on CHLers, fine, but passing on them doesn't mean anything.

I wish people would stop posting the year advantage for late rounders that's great

No one said don't draft Europeans just don't draft every single one and ignore the most important league that has produced Hall of Famers and All Stars and franchise players around the league

- gerbe75pts

You are right.
Let's give up Jack and Dahlin and draft from Canadian leagues only for 1st and 2nd rounds.
This hasvtobe the God Dan dumbest complaint I have heard yet.
