Why would a player who has already been offered 88MM guaranteed, take Significantly less.

Meaning... Botts asked for the moon and was offered a smaller replica made out of paper mashay. To be expected. Once JT and maybe Stastny are gone.... It could open up again.

I found it interested that McKenzie (I think it was) said that if ROR is still a Sabre on July 1 that it'll be likely he stays.... I think that indicates that BUF doesn't want to pay his bonus THEN trade him.

There's not really salary to eat. Most of it is bonus. So you could retain 50% of his base salary, or around 750k

They sure do have some beautiful pieces that I'd love as a return but I don't know if I can see them as a trade partner. They are so close to the cap already. We'd have to take back a contract and the only really questionable ones they have are Myers and Kulikov both of which we've had and dealt away so I doubt we would take them back.

Why would GMs care about salary vs bonuses though, its not their money. Pegula probably doesn't care. I can't picture botts bringing a good trade in and saying but we already paid the bonus cant do it.
