It seems to me that Skinner/ROR as two of the main trade speculation pieces would have been discussed on the draft floor, and if it's what both teams wanted, it would be done. Plus, they just traded their best "+" in Lindholm. I don't see it as likely.

I have Blues as the most likely, if he's traded, with LA and CBJ as wild cards

It would be an ideal situation to trade him to the Jets and sign Stastny on July 1. Stastny would be a great 2C for a year until Mitts is ready, then he can plug in as a high-quality 3C. Bringing back Ehlers + for RoR would definitely help.

Why would a player who has already been offered 88MM guaranteed, take Significantly less.

Does the agent get a cut of the endorsements? Or is dependent on the agent setting up the endorsement deal? I’m seeing this as when Stamkos met with Toronto with Canadian tire offering a boatload of money a year if he signed which undermines fair negotiating practices with other teams. But the PA would definitely have an issue with that

Why would GMs care about salary vs bonuses though, its not their money. Pegula probably doesn't care. I can't picture botts bringing a good trade in and saying but we already paid the bonus cant do it.

A $6.5MM dollar difference is huge for those teams and their profit lines.

For all we know.. we had a sweet deal to get Hanifan and Skinner for ROR at the draft and Skinner blocked it so they did the Calgary deal instead.

Back to back 64 and 60 pt seasons with 25 and 29 goals.

I LOVE Ehlers as a top tier LWer in the NHL. He is also BLAZING fast on the ice. I'm not sure of his defensive or 2 way game though.

I'd trade for him in a heart beat but I can't see WPG wanting to move him. He's starting a 7 year 6M AAV contract next season.
