Yeah but Antipin may or may not be qualified. I think that's how it works, he would be an RFA right?

If he wants to sign with the Sabres, they need to lose the clause he can't play in Roch. He needs the AHL if he wants to stay, with the Sabres at least.

- gcomella34

Correct
We do have to qualify him or he’d be a free agent

He’s a RFA if we do qualify him

I think we should qualify Antipin, question is if he wants to stay.

He said he wants to stay in North America,
so we should at least qualify him
Can always trade his rights if he wants to go elsewhere

Get a 3rd for him?
Maybe have someone throw in a 6th too!
Hahaha

Maybe his rights are part of a bigger deal?

Maybe we get nothing at all?

I know nothing.

Who knows?
Tbd

I do think we will see a couple trades
Just don’t know if it’ll be the major deal that some are looking for

Really in looking at our Org depth, before yesterday, why would you want to see a major deal?

They need to build a foundation as opposed to attempt and strike it big. I think it's going to be pretty quiet.

Maybe for a goalie, but I see ROR staying.

I've made my complaints known about ROR and don't feel like rehashing. But he's a solid 50 - 60 points you'd have to replace. Keeping ROR around for another year or so allows Casey to not be thrown to the wolves.

There's nothing wrong with his character he's a well respected individual the Red Wings got a prospect that could have went in the top 10 but there were so many right handed defenseman so that's the reasoning for his fall and he will most likely end up the weber of this draft
- GERBE!!!75PTS

1. He wasn't drafted by the Wings.
2. NHL Network guys talked about rumors of character issues. He didn't fall because of his skill or his handedness, considering how coveted RHD are.

I see both sides of the ROR debate
Don’t mind trading him as long as it’s for a “core” piece
It would be good for Casey if he’s still here for a year, but there’s ways to “shelter” him without O’Reilly too

I appreciate e the winning culture thing,
but we’ve gotta get rid of at least 1 guy (if not 2) in order to bring him in

Dahlin-Risto
Scandella-Bogo
McCabe-Nelson
Beaulieu

Guhle is ready
Pilut, Borgen, Hickey all close

- jdfitz77

Is Guhle ready, though? Not discounting it outright, but I'd love to know what Botts and Co. think.

Maybe McCabe gets dealt?

I wouldn't mind Cole. They need a solid, take-no-sh!t veteran to lead these kids, and he can still play the game at a good level, blocks shots, can play a physical, meat and potatoes style. You need a guy like that, and he's a good age where a 3-year deal fits perfectly for him and the team.

I think he is
Played well last year in Rochester besides the 3 games in the playoffs
Almost made the team 2 years ago i think?
Starting in Rochester this year though won’t exactly hurt him either
But he’s gonna be a regular here sooner than later

Did you just instruct everyone to not make up lies and then make up lies about the GM?
- gcomella34

Give me the reasoning why he didn’t choose bode wilde ? I’ll tell you why he was going to Michigan
Correct ? He is backing out and now he might go to the CHL and that’s why he was not picked

But, you tell everyone citing the fact there are character concerns pertaining to his word to stop making up lies as if they're speculating but then you speculate JB only wanted Swedes.

Do you not see the irony? You chastise people and then do exactly what you're claiming they did.

That's called hypocrisy.

I don't think Bots minds letting them come to camp to fight things out. Guhle might be the odd man out because he's waiver exempt, but he's got a real chance to stick and if he doesn't, he'll get plenty of time when the inevitable injury strikes. It's in his hands, and personally, I like his odds.

I like his odds too, but if we can bring in someone to lead these kids like Cole hopefully can then having someone like Ghule getting lots of minutes and developing is not a bad thing.

How long has it been since we have had more nhl talent than one roster can hold?

No no I do I just think bode wilde Will be better and a higher calling if he fixes his penalty issue he will be a number 1 D

we just went safe he will be a Brooks orpik that will be successful for many years to come

Which is not bad but yet again I never wanted the D

I’m just irritated if the reason was CHL And that’s why he passed on him that’s going to piss me off

Why did no one pick him in the last half of the first round, or 8 other teams after the Sabres in the 2nd round
