It was literally the first sentence. Nice try.

Since you didn't bother to read. I'm not going to read your drivel.

Why are you so ignorant?
Just cant have a normal discussion.

Year to year consistency and 1/2 to 2nd half is different

Signing Beagle would allow us to move O’Reilly
Especially if it’s in conjunction with taking on either Berglund or Sobotka from StL
Those guys can all take on RORs defensive minutes so Jack & Casey don’t have to worry about that

- jdfitz77

There are definitely a few centers out there that we could go after, which would allow a ROR trade. Nothing to get hard over, but some definite stop gaps.

was that his actual list? Or were they the teams he wants most?

does he have a NMC?

- Shadman306

Even if he doesn't have a no-movement clause he still has all the power because what teams going to trade for him if he's not going sign there

And I'm pretty sure Columbus is not going to take a low price for him

A guy like Beagle (who’s a 4C) could even potentially let us keep Rodrigues at 3C and go with 3 scoring lines if we wanted

I’ve wanted this setup for a while
The last 3 Cup Champs have employed this strategy...
using their 4th line as a “checking unit” instead of their 3rd line
*Caps this year with Beagle,
and Pitt the 2 previous seasons with Cullen as their 4C taking on most of the tough defensive assignments

Oh that's what the real fans understand? Got it. You must not be from Buffalo then because if you were, you'd understand that pretty much nothing has ever gone as planned like ever. "Real fans" is such a cop out argument. Similar to someone insisting someone's else's opinion being ignorant.

I appreciate GMTM for all he tried to make happen. Don't think he was given a fair shake. Probably because he was too brash and spoke his mind. Hopefully Botts' style proves to be methodical and not lethargic.

I’m so tired of effort being the only thing that matters to Buffalo sports fans.

He “tried” and screwed up.

I mean my god, the guy he picked 8th overall, and the guy he traded two second round picks + for couldn’t help Rochester in the playoffs this past year.

They were on the bench or press box

Freddie Claesson from Ottawa? Few games I watched the Sens this year I was impressed. Perhaps the D-line is getting crowded but could be a good depth/Rochester/call-up type player.

Drafting and development.

This is the key. (and a couple savvy signings).

We need someone, or two someone's, to overachieve.

There's a place in Lewiston that's decent. I think it's called the smoke house. I know you don't wanna go downtown, but fat Bob's really is the best imo. The mashed potatoes are amazing. And the Mac and cheese.

I miss Fat Bob's so, so much

Anytime a friend asks me where to go to eat in Buffalo, Fat Bob's is always among the top of the list..

No player will ever take that deal.
The agent in PA fight against this all the time.

I suggested somethign similar with CArlson but on a 2 year and then long term.

Why would a player risk losing out on a fully guaranteed 88MM contract. to get 15MM.

In the case of Tavares its 3MM less this year V 73MM total guaranteed difference.

Seems silly.

- ImThatGuy

Monetarily, it’s actually smart

If he goes to the Leafs now, for the longer term, it’s 7 x 11.5
That equals 80.5mil

1yr, 15mil
Then he signs for 8yrs & let’s keep it at 11.5mil (even though it could go up) which comes in at 92mil
Totaling 107mil over 9 seasons

There’s no way he gets a deal for 26.5mil for the 2 years after his 7 year deal would be up, if he went that route

So the 1year max deal, and then long term big $$$ gets him at least 10mil more in the long run

Plus it doesn’t lock him in to Toronto if he decides he doesn’t like it there, or it’s a sh!tshow, etc

Also gives teams a year to clear salary off their books (say Tampa for instance) if he does decide to move on

Them going off the board with their pick threw the draft in a weird way

That's why the Islanders ended up keeping both of their picks

- Stripes77

They got insanely lucky this draft
I still can’t believe it

Not only did Wahlstrom fall to them (which is freaking nuts)...
they got 2 RH defensemen to also fall to them in Dobson (top5 talent) and Wilde (late teens / early20s)
They’re gonna be set on the right side for years
That’s amazing considering how many teams are always looking for RH defensemen

None of those guys should’ve fallen to them
To get all 3 is nuts

I did... those guys are great.

Are you on Spotify? I think the last 3 seasons are on there... not sure if they have the rest stored on their website.
