Wow, Ken Appleby has been non-tendered by the #NJDevils and is now an unrestricted free agent. 23 year old goalie who can step in at the NHL level almost right away.

The goaltending should be better this year because the defense will be better this year.

I'll take 3OA for ROR sure but beyond that I want roster players in return. Now is not the time to start pushing things out to 3+ years down the road. This team needs to be a playoff contender by next season bare minimum.

This team needs to show massive improvement this year or they are in trouble with the fan base.

Season ticket drop off would be huge, especially if they are only marginally better this year.

If you are looking 2 and 3 years down the road. The talent was there, no doubt.You hope that talent can come in and replicate ROR type numbers in 2 years.

A futures only package kills all the hype they had on Dahlin. It basically admits, yea we are building for the future, not next year, we plan on being bad again.

It would have yes, but again that is an all futures package and admits to the fan base we don't plan on being good next year, which they just cannot do. The fan base won't take another season like last year.

i wouldn't be against signing him.. but to consider him as part of the NHL squad should not be plan A. I would like to see more than 15 games collectively in our nhl goalie tandem
