7 for 5-6 years would be the going rate for a player like Pacioretty, not saying the Sabres will pay it. Sad that players soon to be on the wrong side of 30 are getting that but oh well I guess, good for them. |

We have enough of these players you would think they learn from the past mistakes
Get some young forwards and NHL ready prospects and Build |

Is anyone going to watch the rookie camp today? - sskkoo1
I'll probably walk down there at some point, just not sure which I'll go to yet. I work close enough by to walk in 10. |

People aren't going to agree with me but, Eichel and ROR can't take over games, ROR isn't that type of player but Eichel is, he's just doesn't have enough around him. McDavid can but sorry, he's a better player then Eichel. I sure would like to see Panarin with Eichel but I don't see that happening at all. |
|
|
|
An overlooked aspect of trading O’Reilly for futures is it saves 7.5 million off the cap. The frees up a lot of room to sign a FA to get that player “right now”. |

Build...still........... we have been doing that for how many years now ?and you can't win with a team filled with kids, you're just wasting away Eichel by the year. It's time to move forward now. |

I agree with you. While we have seen Eichel take over games before, they were few and far between.
I think Eichel showed more signs of that ability later in this past season and I hope that continues.
That being said, do you think Patches could help Eichel take over games?
I still think even with Patches we are one top 6 winger away from a good looking top 6. |

I think the bonus that kicks in for ROR on the July 1st will make a difference. Sabres pay it and it should open things up or he waits. - SABRES 89
I hope so. I really think the Blues are the better partner too, but who knows.
They were talking about Sobotka this morning on WGR. STL apparently wants out of his contract, and if we took it on to get a decent return, I think it would be perfect. Sobotka could be that veteran presence that shields Mitts for the 2 years he has left, and we get a better return. |

That's why the Sabres paying his bonus on the 1st of July makes it easier to move him. |

I said the Blues for a month or so, they have been asking the most as of now, but the deal that was talked about that I mentioned wasn't enough. Now if you add to the deal and keep Fabbri in the deal that's fine. |

Agreed. I wouldn’t have minded the rumor trade if it went through.
O’Reilly for
LW Wahlstrom
RHD Wilde
C McLeod (guys who would of been there with Montreal’s pick)
Would of filled needs. With 7.5 million in savings could of signed bozak to a 2 year deal to work mitts in slowly. I would of liked that. |

I like Pacioretty but we do need a fast winger for Eichel but I do think Pacioretty can help out a lot. To much pressure on him playing in Montreal IMO. I like other wingers also for Eichel not just Pacioretty, if that happened. |

We have Mitts, Guhle, and Dahlin to resign in the future. We start poaching other teams players and they'll be coming after us. Nylander would be nice, but not if a pissed off Toronto tries returning the favor by offer sheeting Dahlin if we don't get a deal done before his RFA status. - sskkoo1
If Dahlin is as advertised, there's zero chance he makes it to the end of his rookie deal. Book it. |
