Agreed but the center is going to be a good one could of moved back 4 spots to get him
I think Arizona coyotes made the most idiotic decision ever - gerbe75pts
And they wonder why the Yotes still stink |

After thinking about that Sportsnet article, I think Botterill would trade O'Reilly for 2019 picks. I can see how having 3 first round picks would appeal to him. It does nothing for me, and I think it's the wrong move, but I think he would. I can't believe he doesn't feel any pressure to win now.
3 first round picks doesn't help us for years. I get the argument against "rushing the rebuild," but he should be looking for hockey trades imo. A pick in the range of 13-18 next year would just be awful for my enthusiasm for this team, and I'm sure others.
The feelings of the fans is not his problem, and I get that. Basically this all comes down to Murray squandering everything he was given. So (frank) that guy for leaving us - incredibly, somehow - in a worse position than when he began.
Ugh, it's gonna be a long (frank)ing summer and season if they trade ROR for 2019 picks. (frank). - jcragcrumple
I think you’re under the assumption that the only way we can win any games is by keeping Ryan O’Reilly.
I think Botts disagrees |

I like Pacioretty but we do need a fast winger for Eichel but I do think Pacioretty can help out a lot. To much pressure on him playing in Montreal IMO. I like other wingers also for Eichel not just Pacioretty, if that happened. - SABRES 89
What other wingers do you have in mind that may be available? |

“My sense of the Buffalo ask right now for O’Reilly is this: a first-round pick, a good prospect and a second-round pick. And they’d like to get it before the market opens Sunday, I think, so they can try to back-fill the void left by O’Reilly.”

I am in that crowd but it depends on the team...
If it is a team like MON or CAR who very likely could be a bottom 5 team next year... I am more open to it. If it is protected or from a reasonably sure playoff team then I am not as happy.
We could have 3 1sts next year but if they are all like 9, 23, 27... it's not as sweet as it sounds. |

Rumors that Artemi Panarin is looking to move to a big city so girlfriend can have more modeling opportunities is absolutely not true. She hasn’t modeled in over 3 years. No plans to resume.
SO YOU'RE SAYING THERE'S A CHANCE!!!!! |

Build...still........... we have been doing that for how many years now ?and you can't win with a team filled with kids, you're just wasting away Eichel by the year. It's time to move forward now. - SABRES 89
I think we touched on this yesterday. There's a contingent that agrees and one that doesn't. Good luck swaying either party. I think the older half of this board believes in solid vets, and the younger half think they don't offer much. IMO. |

I don't see a way that it wouldn't cost Sam plus SJS 1st. Maybe even another prospect like Nelson or Davidsson. He's top notch talent. |

I really actually like that idea. Trade RoR for some Murrency and then use that to get a winger from a team that doesnt like/need RoR
Could go back to GMJB comment about needing trades to happen so he can make other moves. |

SJS first and the first we get in a RoR deal (maybe) and bailey?
He needs to sign though which isnt guaranteed.
Could we get montreals first next year plus patches?
Panarin Eichel Reinhart
Patches Mitts Okposo
I think i would have a stroke out of happiness |

Habs are foolish, you take Zadina all day long with the 3rd overall. - SABRES 89
Goes to show how important top 6 centers (even potential) are. In a draft weak with centers, they jumped up and grabbed a guy who's at least a year out from pushing for a spot, let alone being a needle mover. Zadina was and is clearly the better player for now. And they'll need him when they're out a top line lw. Marc Bergevin is an ace. |

That won't be enough, we have to add more. Teams like the Rangers can beat that. |

Poor Mitts.... stuck with the two 30 year olds... He still wouldn't be ready for full-time 2C duties... I'd bet we go out and sign someone to be interchangable on lines 2/3 depending on the shift. |

Patches is fast and very skilled and a good leader.
Okposo should (hopefully) have a return to form.
And then everyone gets their protection for Mitts in those two |
