Parayko and a 1st for ROR and McCabe as the two major pieces

Add a piece here and there to even it out.

You then have 3 firsts for the 2019 draft.

You have a ton of options in the off-season.

Could try to pluck a winger from a cap strapped team.

The concept was that Tavares taking a 1 year deal would want insurance to protect his long term earnings....while taking the riskiest deal imaginable.

I'm with you on the 7/8 year deals. They are crazy for 95% of players and generally terrible for the league.

Obviously I'm not a professional athlete, but as someone who has had his ACL done twice on the same knee, it's never the same. Though I only injured it once, but the graft failed.

I certainly wouldn't trust him in the long term. It's mostly a mental issue, whether or not he can trust it. A lot of guys never get over it. Plus he missed all of last season, pass.
