Agreed. I've been saying this forever. No guaranteed contracts. You want more money, play better. - Powerslave
Agreed, the contracts should be incentive based.
We will pay you $150k per goal, $100k per primary assist, and $50k per secondary assist .
25/20/15 player gets out at $6.2m
Something like that.
Have an off year, oh well...you get paid less.
Want more?,...score more
Obviously overly simplistic, but closer to that than what is now.

Point totals of 37 and 29 in two seasons. Injury prone, two massive injuries. Pass unless he’s basically a sweetener. - Fattony1187
There you go!
Not THE central piece, and really doing the Blues a favor by taking the risk.
If they like him, keep him...fine by me.
I want another younger RHD to potentially be Dahlin's partner for the next 6/7 years.
Parayko fits the bill for me...and it pushes Risto down to 2nd pairing where he can be a beast.
Some like Parayko think he is a very solid #2, others think he regressed...I'll take him... plus a good prospect and draft choice ... keep the draft choice and insert Fabbri...we can up the offer with say Bailey.

I don't yhink we can throw the entirety of the blame on ROR.
As our mommies always said, it takes two to tango.
I remember posters with sources indicating that the locker room was somewhat divided young versus old. Young were partying too much, old were getting fedup with it...not that they were "clean" either. It clearly has impacted the on ice performance and something needs to give...
Management seems to have picked their youth to go forward with...great to see Reino clean up his game and produce like a 2OA should be. Eichel ain't going anywhere, hopefully he matures and takes the next step...maybe more likely with his sidekick cleaned up and his partybuddy Kane gone.
If they have identified the need to part ways with his antagonist ROR, then so be it...I'm ok with that as well. I'm ok keeping ROR as well and have marriage counseling brought in to resolve conflicts...and tough love to tell them to act like adults and properly earn their combined $17.5m ffs!!!
I really hate dogging ROR it seems like I hate the guy, but
He has been on some awful teams. He gets traded off of the Avs and they are instantly better.
Patrick Roy stated that ROR was never seen as, nor acted as a leader in Colorado.
He gets traded to the Sabres and the Sabres go backwards.
but again, all coincidence.
That said, I think he still holds value around the league until his reputation becomes a headache and not worth it. - ImThatGuy
I've thought about this quite a bit. The "leadership" question with him is over rated IMO. Not that it isn't real, just not such a huge deal. With that said, I think sending him to a team that already has a leader in place (Petro in STL) would do wonders for him. At both his stops, the "Leader" seemed to be in limbo and he thought that he had done enough, then not received the credit perhaps? Landy taking it from him in CO, then ECHL taking it here? Both younger then him, and wasn't really in place when he started. Just a thought. Send him to a place where he's not taking 60% d zone faceoffs, has legit wingers (Tarasanko), and a leader in place and he probably flourishes. This is at least how I'd sell it to DA.
