It's a theory that has been floated a lot, because Toronto has a crapton of cap space this year, but I can't imagine the Tavares camp would be willing to take the risk.

On the Tavares front...Dialogue between CAA (in LA) and JT (in Toronto) continues. There has been continued talk with the 6 teams over the past 72 hours...as of 10:30 this morning some teams have been eliminated...but calls to those teams have yet to take place.

In his mind, I wonder if he is looking for reasons to stay or for reasons to go?

Obviously, one of those sleeves is not like the other. I give him and his circle credit -- nobody from the outside seems to have any freaking clue about what he is thinking

If you look at the youth in our system along with the pieces still needed not just to make the playoffs but to seriously advance, we are years away. JT knows this. He is a better fit with San Jose to win right now. If he leaves, its a kick in the crotch for all Isles fans, but as we know after a little time, the feeling goes away and your back to normal. WHOEVER signs JT for 7 or 8 years will be regretting it after 3 years. If we don't allocate that money to JT, we now have respected management that WILL fill in the teams needs, but again we need to be patient. Our future is brighter than its been in decades. If a few of these picks pan out we will be a dominant force in 2 years. Maybe Sorokin comes over next season?

I agree. 100% JT isnt worth 8 yrs @ 11,10 or what ever million $$$. The tide is turning on LI. We finally have Good Hockey People running the Show. Good prospects, a new arena & a bright future.
