I was okay with the first half, but the second half is where things went south.

I’ll be ok with landing the youngest of the three who’s a defenseman who’s tracking at a better rate than Quinn did.
But yeah, Dahlin and Eichel leading a rebuilding Buffalo, Tampa with that stacked team, Boston has Bergy/Ratface/Noodle.. it’ll be a weird division. Also, what the (frank) is going on with Ottawa and Montreal? - RafiDRW
What’s his draft year? 2020 or 2021? 2020 would just be unfair with Lafreniere and Byfield.

Cant say much since Leafs had it happen with Sundin before too. Not the end of the world. Just means Isles are forced to start a new chapter in franchise history hopefully better than the last |

The important thing is that the waterbottle is still safe. So Tavares will not go thirsty. |

Thanks!
I think even most Leafs fans were convinced he was either going back to the Isles or signing with someone else. We're just not used to good things happening to us. - Thecakeisalie
very true.
still don't believe UG has approved the taxes.
anyone got a feed for the TSN coverage ... I don't get that down here in the United Snakes of Murica |

i was thinking he was going to tough it out like Yzerman did and eventually win it with the Isles. |

And Kadri is a strong 2nd tier...and Nylander/Marner/Marleau can play C if they have to due to injuries...
Remember some of the lineups the Leafs had? Member Tim Connolly? I member. - Zezel
Just gotta get that D corp in order. W/ Marlies winning , Im assuming there is some young talent on blueline coming up |

Now you can do the hindsight thing and say, what would the Leafs have gotten for JVR, Bozak and Leo.
Pretty good consolation prize in #91! |

Sundin was pretty much done though. He played half a season, then retired.
Losing a guy like John Tavares when he's only 27 is vastly worse.
However you can't blame him. He wasted 9 years playing for that mess of a team in that poopty arena.
(frank) is it ever sweet to see a bonafide star player come to the Leafs in his prime, and even sign a reasonable deal. Hell, it's the same AAV (at 1 year less) than the Islanders offered! Sure it's loaded in signing bonuses, but so what! |

There's a couple of guys. Dermott is a legit player they developed. Last couple of first rounders for the Leafs are promising D. The Leafs might have to go Pens style and go with a mostly journeyman D corps. |
