Lol, I had to explain this to someone else recently. When you take out two players, you have two free roster spots to fill, not just one.

All JT has to do is be better defensively than Bozak (pretty much a given) and produce his usual offense while doing what he always does, make the players with him better. Whoever his linemates are will also produce offense and the line as a whole will be better than it ever was with JVR and Bozak.

Sucks for you guys he left, but he gave you 9 of his best years and did it for cheap. He's earned the right to go elsewhere.

So much this!!! Absolutely an upgrade giving us 3 30G + centers, we have a much stronger team up the middle, and JT takes pressure off Matthews too. JvR was playing a 3rd line role and was not physical at all and not really suited for that role. Why pay him 7mil?? No the move absolutely makes us overall a better team.

Bozak had no production. JVR did one thing really, really well but Tavares brings far more to the table. This signing makes the loss of Bozak and JVR completely irrelevant.

Actually I gifted that bass to my guitarist since he loves collecting playable gear... and my amp to my drummer who needed one of his own for the jam space ... I'd rather have them used than collecting dust in the corner... kept my kingman acoustic tho... I'll never stop fully playing

Even when the Leafs are the away team, how are opposing coaches going to line match? Which centre do you try to shut down? Kadri alone can burn teams.

When the Leafs are at home and Babs has last change, why even bother as an opposing coach.
