Absolutely...Not sure the leafs are at that point just yet but signing John Tavares proves they wont be sitting around hoping to draft a contender..

Honest question though can you offer sheet someone off their entry level? Would really (frank) the leafs if someone offer sheeted Nylander at 7+ |

Yes someone could offer sheet Nylander - Fruitcakenipple
Be terrible. Cost a 1st 2nd and a 3rd up to 8.1m. probably wouldn't make sense for a bar team as it might cost a lottery pick and most contenders don't have the cap space to offer Nylander 7+ |

Meh. Player has to want to sign one and leave.
I suppose nylander may want out, but not likely. |

Buffalo for example may tempt him for a chance to play with his brother but if the leafs get a lottery pick to not pay Nylander 7+ million I'd be okay with that. |

Maybe - do you think it would be a good use of $5 million to get a guy that might get 10 miniutes a night? Maybe a useful d-man that will give us 15-18 minutes a night would be the course. After all.
Hyman-Matthews-Nylander
Marleau-Tavares-Marner
Johnsson-Kadri-Kapanen
Homer Simpson-Gumby-Brown
Do we need to spend any more $ on forwards? - winsix
Wonder if a move for a RHD is next...Honestly, I'm ok with our 4th line potentially being Grundstrom-Jooris-Brown. |

The Leafs could be offering 5 million per year for 3 or 4 years, the offer sheet may guarantee 7 million per year for 7 years. The whole point of the offer sheet is to over pay for a player so usually if a player is signing it, it's because they were offered huge money that their current team isn't offering.
All that being said, the odds of a team offering him that much money this early in his career are pretty low. But after this up coming season, that could change, depending on his production. |

Brown wouldn't be okay with it and neither would I at his price tag.
Josh Jooris is an underwhelming signing, I think he's for the Marlies because they can do better than that, even for a 4th liner. |

Jooris is a decent, low risk signing.
Brown, if not traded, is behind Marner/Nylander/Kapanen on the right side. |

I think he'll resign but don't expect it to be soon. I don't think he's gonna be happy with what the leafs offer him. He's not getting big money. Max he'll get is Ehlers money on a long-term |

Jooris doesn't impress me. I think they can do better for a 4C. Jooris should be a Marlies signing.
He's not behind Kapanen, not yet anyway. Brown has proven he can be a 20 goal scorer in the NHL. Kapanen hasn't even played a full season yet. For all we know, Kapanen is the new Grabner who gets 10 breakaways and scores on 1 of them. Brown is more experienced, more proven and higher paid. |

Might get something closer to Pastrnak. |
