Ok fellas so who you figure comes up next year to the big club from the Marlies, after their cup win?
- mel_vin

Johnsson and Dermott. Possibly Moore for a 4th line/PKer role.

Also, there was a tweet that Babcock envisions a top-6 of Marleau - Mathews - Nylander, Hyman-Tavares-Marner

Don’t know if that’s true or not, but Tavares turned Lee into a 40 goal guy, so Hyman couldn’t hurt.

Dermott, Johnsson I think are most likely. Trevor Moore maybe as the 4C.

This is the third of three spectacular things I thought I'd never see.

The first was drafting Mitch Marner.

Then, winning the lottery and getting Austen Matthews.

Now, the first true star player to leave his original team, during his prime, to take less money, accept more pressure and play for his home town team. Not even Niedermayer did what Tavares is doing as he had already won his Cups.

For this, I will forever be a fan of Tavares just for actually being crazy enough to do this.

(frank)ing yes...finally. Thank you Johnny T.

Pretty sure this is the most positive post I've ever seen from you!

Does this mean you would like to change your stance on the "reasons" Tavares might come to the Leafs being poopty reasons with no proof requiring giant leaps of blue and white faith?

Clearly those "reasons" were in fact weighing in on his decision, like many people suggested to you.

Oh well, water under the bridge I guess. Lets all be happy we got John Tavares, and at a pretty fair AAV too.

For a second there I believed he's just a pessimistic leafs fan (ala atherial) and not just a troll alt for another team.

agreed, it was a fun debate to kill the time before it became official. It also restores my faith in atheletes. I love the fact that he was a leaf fan growing up, good ol local boy playing for the buds, and a not to shabby one at that. I just hope we can keep this core together for a couple of years before money becomes an issue.

That 1st is pretty much a 2nd and the 2nd is pretty much a 3rd and Thompson cant skate for a fuk + the bad contracts that came back....

End of day O'Rielly wins that trade as he escaped Barffalo and Garfs constantly trying to lick his cock...

Name me a star player who left in his prime for less money to play for his home team? History was on my side. This poop almost never happens, especially with the Leafs. Niedermayer is the only one and he didn't go "home" and he had already won a few Cups so even he isn't a good comparable. It was a miracle and I'm happy it finally went our way.

Jordan Subban I think starts the year in the AHL.
Jooris will be our 4th line C. Was decent in Pittsburgh and Carolina.

Really hope not. Rather bring in Vermette at 1.5 or less.

Was still kinda funny when you suggested he'd be acting like a 10 yr old if he signed here...
Anyway, water under the bridge. Tavares is a Leaf. Thats all that matters.
