We have 3 FRP’s next year, we got 2 solid players in Berglund and Svobotka, and a promising prospect. Hutton is a very solid 1a/b splitter. We drafted the best defense prospect in 10 years. And some of you are crying because🤔🤔🤔🤔 |

Mitts > ROR as 2C offensively wise
Berglund, Sobotka in the bottom 6 are better then Larsson, nolan, Griffith.
We got better today. |

ROR was very productive on the power play. Somebody will collect those points in his place. At even strength he wasn’t getting it done enough for me. I liked him but I’m not going to regret this, the Sabres will be fine without him. |

ROR was a minus player, crappy locker room presence that forced his way out of two organizations, and needed to play 24 minutes a game just to average 60 points a year. Berglund can play against the Tavares line... Casey can get better matchups now. We need veterans to show these young players how to come to work everyday. Not a 26 year old with a drinking problem. ROR didn't do anything to bring us out of the basement, is slow footed, and has a disgusting contract. We won the trade. - Pegullaville
We need veterans??!!!? What about prospects??!!!???

I know right.... I always used to wonder why Buffalo could never have nice things. The last two hours proved to me that we deserve all the misery we get. |

Berglund has a modified NTC. I believe he'd have to be protected, unless he agreed to waive - jcragcrumple
I'm surprised they allowed him to keep that. I remember reading a while back that once a player is traded the new team has the option to negate any NTC-NMC in the player's contract since they waived it to go to another team. At-least that's what I recall reading, but then again I could be wrong. |

How are they solid? Berglund was solid maybe a few years ago. Fans and teams wanted Sobtka out BAD. Thompson might be solid but wasn't even one of their top 3 prospects. |

Von Dudensteins,
I found an image of the ROR return on the www. If Botts can figure out how to put it together, there’s got to be an iphone in there.

I’ll amend... “goal” scorer is what i meant
He hasn’t lit it up at any level as far as goals go, so I’m far from confident that he will become one now in the NHL - jdfitz77
19 goals in college is top 5. |

So it's not a good trade because they didn't give us Robert Thomas.

Now that ROR is gone, not only can we continue to talk ROR all summer, but now people can cry about frankly a pretty good return. - TheSabresTaco
I came here to talk Tyler Myers, dammit. |

Thompson isn't a bad player. Give the kid time to develop. We are going to have a young team with all the kids we have coming up. This isn't the world juniors. We need some sort of veteran presence. |

If we got one of 3 it might have saved the trade
now we have to put Thompson in the AHL next year to get his confidence up and to put him back at Center
So we'll see him in a year |

No it's not a great trade because they got two 3rd line players who are on the wrong side of 30 one of which has never scored 20 goals before and the blues 4th best prospect. The 1st round pick will be nice if they use it to get Skinner, Zucker etc. otherwise it's just going to be in the 15-31 range. |

every year we do this then by September nothing is changed - gerbe75pts
We just brought in the next Hedman/Karlsson/Doughty.
Traded a bull crap draft pick for a fast, skilled winger who comes to play in pressure games, and who scores primarily at even strength.
Received 2 first round picks in either next year's or the following years draft. (and come next June, you of all people will be creaming in your knickers if we have 3 first rounders).
We brought in 3 solid vets who, along with Sheary, have 194 playoff games between them.
And, again, we can rest assured that Botts isn't done. |
