Tage Thompson is the prospect I hope we get from the Blues, said nobody ever before 8:30 PM, July 1, 2018. - Hatboro_Swords
Recency bias applies here. Tage was pretty good for the U.S at the world juniors, former first round pick. Helps he's 20 and already played NHL games. Perhaps Botts wanted someone who was NHL ready now. |

What position do Thomas and Kyrou play, curious...Center... so who cares if they do, even though no one but you has stated that but you. - sabreswarpath
He plays wing that's what he was transformed into everyone in scouting including the Blues made it their priority to turn him.into a Winger |

Kris Baker on Tage Thompson:
Big and skilled, historically strong on PP. Excellent shot. I see him playing RW with the Sabres org.
Botts we're going to use him as a center
Ok then - gerbe75pts

Omg please stop, he never said he was playing center. Where would he even fit Eichel, Reinhart, berglund, Rodrigues, girgensons, Larson, mittlestadt. I think we have enough centers. Relax botts isn't the coach, if he's better than all those guys excluding Eichel and CM, then yea play him at center. Who the f cares man. |

Solid trade by Botts. He promised change to the core and he delivered. ROR's season ending interview sealed his fate with probably the owners and management. Maybe even his teammates. While we got a pile of assets for him, perhaps the best news is that it clears the way for Jack to become C and lead this team. This alone is worth ROR being traded.
Looking at this objectively, if you were to say which 3 guys on the Sabres likely disrupted chemistry the most this past year, it would have been Kane, ROR and Lehner. All gone. Sometimes you add by subtraction.
After 1 year of observing and listening, Botts is putting his stamp on the team. Let's wait and see what the final product looks like before October before we pass final judgement on his work. IMO, he is miles ahead of what Murray during his tenure with the Sabres. |

Botts said he will grow with our young centermen. Which usually means he will play wing and grow as our young centermen grow. |

My guess is that T-Pegs put pressure on Botts to move ROR before they had to give him $7.5 million. - Pierceme69
Maybe, but I think botts wanted the cap freedom to field a good team next year.
T pegs would buy a championship if he could
In my opinion |

He's probably sick of pissing his money away with no result. It shows the rest of the players he's means business and it's no longer a charity. |

I don't know how you guys do it. I usually lurk most of the year, until trade deadline, draft, free agency time, but you guys who are here, day in and day out, dealing with this whiny crap? Wtf. |

Or, he flips a 1st for that elusive winger we need.
Either way, nice post. - Powerslave

You can find him under the reserve contacts section. Dahlins there too! - TheSabresTaco
Thank You, I never even realized that was there. I always wondered why CapFriendly never included players who's rights are still owned by the team. Guess they have I just never noticed it. Well now I know, Thanx Again. |

I know right.... I always used to wonder why Buffalo could never have nice things. The last two hours proved to me that we deserve all the misery we get. - Pegullaville
Not everyone feels that way.
There's a contingent of fans who have seen alot of losing and they are jaded |

I thought he was suggesting him as a center but it sounds like he was trying to say growing with the young center

I disagree with a lot you said here. But what I can agree with is Botteril is putting his stamp on the team and if and when we suck again this year. He or the fans can't blame it on the culture.
