Someone needs to put together a blooper reel of all the perfect setups Jack gave to his wingers that they just completely duffed on.

The run-time might be a little long though.

- BareMetal

I'm glad someone else saw those last season. Between those and the double triple teams I'm surprised Jack got as many points as he did. All we need are wingers competent enough to cash in on Eichel's set-ups because some of them are just unbelievable and his current wingers still couldn't score.

that's because those Wingers can't handle a simple pass because they have no hockey IQ

I'm extremely cautiously optimistic Sheary can be that guy. He's fast? I think. And it seems like he's competent enough to bury Eichel's grade A chances. It's not ideal but with what we have it's our best option.

He did during his interview with Pittsburgh after they acquired him. That and what Rutherford said at the same interview/press conference is what started all of this.

Most of the reporters and analysts who’s full time jobs it is to follow the sport think either the trade was a great haul for the Sabres or at worst it was even value.

Most of the people here yelling about how the return was horrible for the player we no longer wanted in the locker room.

There are already some pretty strong allusions from people in the Sabres organization that this was addition by subtraction and moving RoR is important for the dynamic of the team.

That seems like a +3 in favor if the trade in my book.

RoR wanted out, he didn’t ask for a trade publicly but the writing was on the way. All things considered this is a good aquision of some murrancy for a gm that will spend it much more wisely.

Not to mention, BOTH berglund and sobodka scored more even strength goals than orielley last year with about half of the ice time.

The Islanders wasted John Tavares for years with scrub Wingers and you want us to do that with Jack? that's probably the reason why he left

Oh, my.

Stickhandling is top notch, great net-front presence, and a nose for the net. Looked like he plays the game to win, and when a scoring opportunity was there, he was (despite the need to work on his skating a bit) quick in tight to retrieve that puck and bury it. I like what I see.

Murray had a plan too.. Trade a 1st for Lehner, get his long term 30 goal scoring LW and shut down defenceman give up another 1st and prospects? Sure! I believe in who I got. Now he's the laughing stock of the town.

I trust Botteril in general more than Murray but he better be right about Thompson. IMO he's the center piece of this trade for Botteril and the one who will mainly be judged on in terms of winner or loser in 3-4 years from now.

- bluengold12

I just don’t see how ROR will be missed, he did literally nothing 5on5 and we have CM and others who will fill in on the PP. it’s a good trade to get rid of someone who will never take this team to the next level. He was an experiment that failed miserably.

If we flip some of the assets for a winger, it’s a homerum.

I saw the return and came here to read some happy posts after the months of RoR trash talk and we get so many pieces back.

Ended up getting 20 pages of near sided group think whining.

He needs to be in the AHL next year so he can reach his level of a top-six forward let's not turn him into girgensons

Zemgus becomes the only Sabres I now own of a player that still plays here.

ROR now joins Afinogenov, Miller, Myers, and Kaleta
