Per Armstrong:
“Buffalo did a really good job of maintaining their desire for Tage and the picks, then you have to do the math equation to make it work. Unfortunately we had to part with some players we respect highly. But in a cap system, you have to do things that are uncomfortable.”
Buffalo general manager Jason Botterill said Sunday night that Thompson “from our standpoint, has very good speed. One of the biggest things we like is his size, his reach and his ability to protect the puck. We like his hockey sense, and he has shooter’s mentality.”

american and euro 18 year olds do not feel the sense of entitlement that canadians feel - homiedclown
Especially the Scandies. You don't seem to find any sort of entitlement out of those guys. Dahlin, the entire hockey world knows he's the best prospect in decades from Sweden, except for him. |

AA is 22 and just hitting his potential he’s fast and already had what 18? On the 3rd line I believe
And berglund is 30 so I believe Those two are not comparable - gerbe75pts
He's Canadian, why would Botts trade for him?

So let me get this straight.
Berglund - 60 points last two years, complete crap
AA - 62 points last two years. First line Winger for Eichel. - ImThatGuy

I wouldn’t - gerbe75pts
I wouldn't want to lose them for nothing. The way I see it, there are two spots available for Girgensons, Larsson, Bailey, Baptiste, Nylander, O'Regan, Olofsson. 4 of them are not waiver-exempt. |

I believe that’s zucker right ? |

Jason Botterill shipped out a Canadian for another American and another Swede. This is becoming more than just "how things happened to work out".
I am not hating on this trade, just an observation. - buffalofan19
Maybe jbotts has seen enough of the "good ol Canadian boys " drinking and partying hard.
Not to say Americans do not party
But I think the swedes are pretty focused on hockey first |

3 Kostin
4) Dunn
5)Thompson - gerbe75pts
Dunn isn't a prospect anymore he is a regular in the top 6. Kostin hasn't lit the world on fire, 28 points in 68 ahl games compared to Thompson 18 in 30.
I won't argue with the first two but I wouldn't put Kostin as the clear cut#3. I think with proper development Tage could be a nice future piece in the top 9. |

Dunn isn't a prospect, wouldn't qualify for ROY next year. I've seen Kostin and Thompson switched by a few reports. So again, 5th by YOUR metric. |

90. - TheSabresTaco
