S2TP's violent criminal record is a sticking point for Ek.

1) Manning making half of what Ghost makes. $2.25 mil. Hey, good on the Dog, but I can't stop laughing. Bet Diamond Dave is getting an expensive fruit basket. At least Chicago also signed Kunitz and Ward!

2) Vancouver. Lol Nucker. NTCs and buyout proof contracts from Roussel and Beagle. Not even JVR got those. I love Jim Benning

3) Riley Nash was a pretty fair contract actually to people who thought he'd get overpaid

4) The Islanders signing Flip as 2C and Komarov to 4 years......holy poop, Lou. Tavares was smart to leave. They can act like Lou brings competence, and from a business angle maybe, but on-ice? (frank) lol

5) ROR deal was pretty great for STL, even if he's a tad overrated. They didn't part with anything worth second thought, just depth quantity

6) Neal is going to fall off so fast and already is in the decline; the JVR deal is so much better now and later for an extra $1.25 mil

7) Stastney was a good get for VGK and a part of ensuring actual sustainability

good for him, as much as I didnt like him playing as much as he did, I respected how he did it.

Oh, he's a great guy. As long as it's not here, good on him. He's just a mediocre 6/7 defenseman who will now make $4.5 million over 2 years because he was a bad coach's pet and GMs are irrational in free agency. But Stan Bowman thinks he's a "late bloomer." I only wish Chicago's defense prospects were closer so he could block them too.

I agree that Hakstol should played the kids more, since this was a rebuilding year. The Islanders signed Filppula, so we won't have to see Flip in orange and black next season.

Love Rogan’s podcast! boy did he catch some heat for having Nugent. Not sure why, was just having a conversation. People act like Rogan is this one side guy at times but in reality he interviews people from all over sharing all types of different beliefs. He’s always respectful towards all of his guests and genuinely has an ear for curiosity and learning. He did a recent one with David Goggins, highly recommend you listen. Guy is unbelievable

Manning has value as a depth defenseman which is why Chicago signed him. It's not because he was a bad coaches pet, that's an asinine comment. It's because he can play reliably at times and brings a physical aspect and is a respected player. Manning did not block anybody when he was here.

Such a narrow minded point of view. Sometimes you have to put yourself in a GM's shoes. If he doesn't improve the team, he won't be the GM much longer. In order to do so sometimes you have to overpay for some role players. Both Beagle and Roussel are character veteran players. They'll help Vancouver.
