Manning has value as a depth defenseman which is why Chicago signed him. It's not because he was a bad coaches pet, that's an asinine comment. It's because he can play reliably at times and brings a physical aspect and is a respected player. Manning did not block anybody when he was here.

Such a narrow minded point of view. Sometimes you have to put yourself in a GM's shoes. If he doesn't improve the team, he won't be the GM much longer. In order to do so sometimes you have to overpay for some role players. Both Beagle and Roussel are character veteran players. They'll help Vancouver.

Most likely but as you bring along some youth, you need to have some role players to handle a lot of the heavy lifting and help your team compete. That's all those signings are, and they're for chump change. They still sit 12M under the cap. Have to view moves from more than one perspective.

See, I'm not a fan of giving any one player that ki d of money but if any D man is worth that much right now he's certainly in that discussion.

So I listened to a podcast with Joe Rogan and Ted Nugent. The dude is out there, in a good way though (kinda). I am a liberal, but I actually enjoyed a lot of his talk with Rogan. He promotes a very healthy lifestyle.
