I think it makes us better in the future most certainly.

And this trade makes us better this coming year as well. RoR did not produce 5v5 whatsoever. the "cap dumps" we got back out produce him.

We weren't going to be good next year, RoR wasn't part of the long term plan (choose your reasons)

I doubt you could even turn last years team into a bubble team on Xbox in one off season

I take a more wait a see approach with things now.... can’t say if it makes us better or worse now or in the future. I was hoping for more of a prospect coming back, even if we had to add someone. I like to get the best player in a trade and right not that hasn’t happened.

As it stands now our locker room is better but scoring etc is decreased in my opinion

Watch his highlight videos. Kid has decent wheels. But it's his stickhandling that has me excited, which makes it seem like he's moving quicker than he actually is

He just needs to develop hopefully he takes the summer and kills it .

I just saw that he doesn't want to be a power forward which is interesting because that's what the Blues wanted for him

Maybe him not being a power forward will be better for his career

From the looks of it, he will be riding in the top 6 at least to start the year.

Hamilton says Thompson said Botts told him he has a top 6 spot and hes excited to "not be pigeon holed in the bottom of the lineup" and is "excited to get out there and score some points"

Worse scoring but we are probably better in penalty killing, I assume both centers we got are faster then ROR . We are better at 5v5 scoring though.

Sadly No but they’re pretty good D players for the 3rd line

Wow. That's a bit of a shock. To guarantee him a roster spot is something, but to tell him he's got a spot in the top 6? Yikes.

So, unless they envision Sheary as a line 3 LW, they must be done bringing in guys?

Why do you think we're better at 5v5 scoring, but worse at scoring overall? Do you really think the PP takes a big hit without RoR, but likely with Dahlin and Mittelstadt?

Hes right handed, so he may be playing on the right side.

I'm not really sure, it seems to me Thompson has the hands, size, and desire to go right to the net that would look good on Eichel's wing.

That is probably way too much to ask right out of the gate but hey people were sliding Erod on Eichels wing a couple days ago

That’s just in the context of ROR versus them overall I don’t expect more point’s produced buy them to ROR. As for the pp, I actually think it’s gets better, now jack and Casey should be in the first unit together.

They have scored more 5v5 points each than RoR has in the last two years with half of his ice time.
