On the urgency to move O'reilly before his bonus was due:
"That was certainly a big part of it. If it went past midnight today, the asking price would've certainly been a lot different, you never want to say never but yeah it played a big role in making sure the deal was done today."
so much for money never being an issue with the sabres mr pegula - homiedclown
At some point he’s gotta stop throwing money away and have someone run the teams like they are a business. He’s paying way too many people not to be here. |

" In the two years between those two when the Sabres were in rebuild-mode, the some of the assets Regier got from trading his core group were thrown around by Murray and after the team just traded Ryan O'Reilly, the last of the three, everything Murray gave to get them has been essentially wasted as none are here anymore"
Are you serious? I'm sorry, but you shouldn't get paid to write or critique based on this embarrassingly brutal, nonsense, run-on sentence. Have some pride in your work and put an effort into editing. This is high school paper drivel, at best. Better luck next time! - Dissinterry

It’s pretty sad when people like that poster have nothing better to do than to try and troll on a blog site. |

I've been seeking professional help for it. For some reason, I think if I troll hard enough I'll become the president. |

Just curious if any of the posters here saying we didn't get any top assets in the ROR trade are the same ones that still b!tch about GMTM trading the 21 OA pick for Lehner. After all, it's not like he gave up a top asset to get him. - adambuffalo
My no he just gave away a draft pick that every Scout said was one of the deepest drafts
And could of had Brock boeser or Konecny etc

The only one you didn't provide. Also, probably Dahlin and Pilut. They'll be out of here before training camp. |

Can he be forgiven for roughing up his gf?
Bc a puck moving, good skating, RIGHT SHOT defenseman who’s 28 would seem to fit here nicely
I’m on the fence
What he did was awful
I can separate off ice stuff from the player though
If he were to be traded here,
I’d be willing to give him a chance
But i completely understand those who wouldn’t - jdfitz77
Let someone else do that. I don't need the sabres to be in the business of hiring wife beaters, no matter their skill level

Jake or Scandella - gerbe75pts
I think you are right that these are the two most likely to be moved. But I don't think JB moving both would be a good idea. If he does that it forces Guhle into a 2nd line pairing instead of continuing to let him find his game by starting as the 3rd pairing.
If I had to keep 1 its Jake |

The only reason why they didn't pay the bonus because the blue said they wouldn't do the deal so the pennies really don't matter to him |

I think you're misinterpreting this. The price from the Sabres would have went up, and the Blues weren't willing to pay that higher price, so the Blues paid the bonus. It was a negotiating tactic. That bonus was basically another asset in the deal. If the Sabres paid it, then they would want maybe 2 prospects instead of 1, and the blues weren't willing to do it. It's a ticking clock negotiatiation |

It's absolutely misinterpretation. There's not much more to add. If you're going to dish out millions of dollars for a player you're clearly trying to move, why would you not ask for more after you have to dish out said money? |

They didn’t wanna pay him the bonus. If they paid the bonus, he’d have been here to start the season.
They wanted him gone before midnight. Eventually it becomes a situation where you have to stop spending good money chasing after bad. ROR and his bonuses were bad money and now they’re someone else’s problem. |

Bogo if anyone. We seem to go through 9 per season. 82 games is a lot and the depth is always needed. Guhle and Pilut will probably start in Roch. |
