I think you are right that these are the two most likely to be moved. But I don't think JB moving both would be a good idea. If he does that it forces Guhle into a 2nd line pairing instead of continuing to let him find his game by starting as the 3rd pairing.
If I had to keep 1 its Jake - feetontheair22
I wouldn't be mad if we traded both I think Guhle needs to be in the starting roll and Pilut I think that dude is gem they found he's really good I know it's just Prospect camp but he's been playing against men to
And you have will Borgen coming up next |

I think you're misinterpreting this. The price from the Sabres would have went up, and the Blues weren't willing to pay that higher price, so the Blues paid the bonus. It was a negotiating tactic. That bonus was basically another asset in the deal. If the Sabres paid it, then they would want maybe 2 prospects instead of 1, and the blues weren't willing to do it. It's a ticking clock negotiatiation - jcragcrumple
No one was willing to pay the price after midnight and we’d have been stuck with him. St Louis was the only one willing to pony up assets and pay the bonus.

They didn’t wanna pay him the bonus. If they paid the bonus, he’d have been here to start the season.
They wanted him gone before midnight. Eventually it becomes a situation where you have to stop spending good money chasing after bad. ROR and his bonuses were bad money and now they’re someone else’s problem. - dadeadhead
I really don't believe that he would have been moved to a different team probably two weeks later |

Bogo if anyone. We seem to go through 9 per season. 82 games is a lot and the depth is always needed. Guhle and Pilut will probably start in Roch. - mattsox

Yeah, the way homie framed what he said made it sound like the sabres would have gotten more if they paid the bonus. From what I've heard, the deal they got was the best the offer was going to get. The Blues were not going to give more to have the Sabres pay the bonus. If the Blues would have been willing to give more to have the sabres pay, I am pretty certain Pegula would have written the check. |

The only reason why they didn't pay the bonus because the blue said they wouldn't do the deal so the pennies really don't matter to him - gerbe75pts

Eventually those pennies turn into hundreds of dollars. Eventually you have to stop making bad decisions or you go broke. Eventually you have to stop paying for people to play/coach for other teams. |

makes sense.. if the locker room issues are true i think it was a decent return it just keeps pushing back the rebuild. |

Not for what Botts would’ve wanted.
It’d be the Kane situation all over again where he waited to long. |

Not sure if anyone said this because back-reading 40 pages is a pain in the A$$.
I think a key reason why Botts wanted Berglund is not only because he fills a need as most have said but he is also from Sweden. With Dahlin and all the other Sweds we brought in who will play in Buffalo at some point can all be helped by him. He can help them to adapt to being and playing in the States and ease their transition from how it was in Sweden to how it is here. I think GMJB wanted Burglund more for these reasons then how he helps us on the ice. Again, it is also good to have a fellow countrymen on the ice with you to help you in games as well. I guess we will see, over time, if he can have a positive affect on guys like Dahlin, Olofsson, Pilut, & Asplund. That's just my take on the subject.
Again, sorry if this has been brought up already I just wanted to add it in case no one else has. |

It's way different Kane was a UFA he had a clock ticking by his ear
He got taken down by a general manager that has been in the league way longer than him
It showed |
