50 points in 200 nhl games

versteeg
puts up about .44 ppg the last 2 years with flames

Depth guys
Don’t see them making us better
And we have 15 forwards currently
Neither of those guys are top6,
so i don’t see the point in bringing them in

And team speed...
severely lacking there

Obviously Botts still has work to do
I’m not throwing him under the bus
Just saying he actually made us slower
That’s a concern

I’m up there
Glad we haven’t moved him
Would rather trade Scandella

Bailey & Baptiste will help the speed too,
but the bolded are slow
Decent players, but slow for sure

I know, i know... “Botts isn’t done yet”
I just think bringing in them is curious bc it’s the opposite of what he said he wanted

Not sure you can say we are slower, go back and look at what we had last year.... it wasn’t pretty.

Yup, I know you not expecting it all to be done in one off-season.

I do for the first time in a couple years believe the team direction is proper...
Yes issues remain to be sure.
However it ain't a jet ski turning, it is an aircraft carrier...takes time.
AND they have
- restocked the prospect lust
- created competition in Bflo and Rich
- generated a fair amount of draft choices, with more on the way.

2018-19 - The year of The Culture Transition
2019 -20 - The year of The Breakout
2020-21 - The Challenge Year
2021+++ - The Contending Years

Yea, it takes awhile...enjoy The Process!!!

I do love how Homie positioned it that tggey are faster, better than who they are replacing overall.

Their replacements will then improve on them

Agree
And i think your timeline is probably pretty accurate
I’m not trying to be a downer,
although i get its coming off like that

Is just rather see Berglund as the defensive 3C and let Bailey/Baptiste play instead of Sobatka
I know I’m one of the few who like those guys though

I like mitts a lot , but our franchise center has never put up that many points you want mitts to do that his first year as a 19 yr old? If he’sanywhere Close to 50 we should all be thrilled...if he scores 65 people will be screaming for jack’s head.
- gordong

If Mitts gets 50 it’s a good year. I just think if everything goes right he can be a guy that puts up somewhere in the 60-65 point range. If you disregard Eichel’s rookie year he has averaged 0.92 points over the course of the last 2 seasons which is approximately 75 points. Jacks problem is staying healthy. And the fact that he plays with Pominville and Girgensons against the toughest matchups. Our PP was hot garbage last year as well.

Our power play will as well. Dahlin, Mitts, Eichel, Reinhart, Okposo/Risto.

Mitts takes O’Reilly’s spot...
but I think Dahlin starts on PP2

Idk if he & Rosto will both be on PP1?
That will move Jack down low instead of in that Ovie/Stamkos spot
Might be worth a try though?

Stop being reasonable.

Everything is black and white, and everything needs to happen this year.

He thinks Mitts will put up Barzal-like production
Except he didn’t know (supposedly) what Barzal’s production was
So i think he amended his projections to 65pts

- jdfitz77

Fitz - YOU WERE INCREDIBLY SMART AND CORRECT THAT THOMAS VANEK WOULD NOT BE SIGNED HERE.

BUT,
YOU ALSO THOUGHT CASEY WOULD STAY IN SCHOOL OR ROCHESTER.

Casey is an nhl player. Easily 65 points

Barzal was apart of the Eichel draft though. Yes it was his rookie year last year and he put up 85 but he’s also 21. Mitts very well could be a 85 point player by the time he’s 21. I think he puts up 65 points this year and that would be a damn good year considering where we are as a team right now.
- Pegullaville

Good point pegullaville.

I mentioned there was no reason Casey couldn't step in next year( 2018-19) and put up barzals numbers.

I guess I didnt realize that he had 85 points

Casey is awesome.
I may also be premature, but eichel and Casey 1 and 2 is about as good as it gets - ever

If Casey puts up 65 , jack and the power play will be a big part of it.

Jack eichel will be a point per game guy now, with our depth.

Casey > 65
Jack> 82

Just an opinion

Who's there.
65 without a LOT of help alongside is pretty bold.
I'd be very good with 40-45 depending on his linemates.

I love his play and your optimism, but that is aggressive.
That could change if he gets a solid sniper or two to play with.

Idk about Hutton?

Berglund & Sobatka are ok,
but more of the same slow players i thought we were trying to move on from

I know they’re both legit NHLers
But i think I’d rather see some of our young, speedy guys in the lineup

That ROR trade makes very little sense to me
I think Botts may have gotten schooled
When’s the last time someone took TWO cap dumps in a trade? If ever...?
Let’s say we got the draft picks for taking those contracts...
that means all we got for O’Reilly was Thompson

Btw, what do u think of Thompson?
I’m not impressed
Idk that he will score goals at the NHL level
And he’s not a great skater (he’s ok)
None of the guys we got in that trade fit the style Botts supposedly wants

- jdfitz77

Neither Berglund or Sobotka are slow
