I put Pacioretty there because I believe less and less he'll be moved from now till the start of the season

Also, Shaw, Byron and obviously Weber aren't there because they will miss the start of the season because of their respective surgeries.

I'd probably pay someone $1006 to hold WaterBoy's head in my toilet

Savard's teams always seemed to be pretty well stocked with talent but he was definitely the last good GM here. Houle was bad. Gainey was mediocre. Gauthier wasn't really here long enough to make a big impact. i would say Bergevin is the worst of the bunch. he has been here so long already and the club has seen nothing but a decline in talent at all levels of the organization. it's actually impressive how slowly he has run this thing into the ground.

Just out of curiosity, why did Savard only last 3 years?

I'm sorry but no.

You can say alot of bad things about Bergevin.

But no one on that list comes close to Réjean Houle in terms of being terrible at the job.

NO ONE.

You're talking about André?

He was replaced because the new owner, Mr. Gillet, thought bringing Gainey would bring back some credibility to the team.

I kinda liked Andre Savard, he inherited the worst team in the history of the club and didn't have time to turn the ship around before he got fired.

Was good at scouting/drafting but bad at signing. If I remember correctly he was the one who signed Brisebois to that crazy contract.

Yep, was closer to 60 cents. But the Habs also didn't have all of that marketing machine they have today. Same for Evenko, it's their cash cow now. Thank god for George Gillet or we would be closer to the Sens than the Leafs financially.

Didn't matter much because every summer all major UFAs got signed by the Rangers.

And they still won absolutely nothing.

Makes me hopeful the Leafs implode the same way.

I'd rather see them lifting a cup than one of the mickey mouse teams. They signed one big name I wouldn't compare it to the country club the NYR had in those days.
