Im am not comparing Martin to Reeves, I would take Martin on my team. Reeves is garbage. Plain and simple. And yes George McPhee has some pretty dumb moves on his resume.
- Mentalorgasm5

Not at $2.5M I wouldn't. But yeah, I'd take him over Reaves for sure.

Just 1 when he traded Forsberg IMO.
- SABRES 89

Tatar for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd...
Trades away Dennis wideman for a 5th and Jordan Henry
Trades away a 1st round pick for Troy Brouwer

Im sure I could find more.

3 cups doesn't matter how long, 3 cups
- SABRES 89

It really kind of does when the game is totally different. Would you let a doctor operate on you who hasn't done any continuing education for 18 years? I sure as (frank) wouldn't. Not to mention it's illegal, but the premise works.

When Connolly was hit from behind, or Vanek was hacked in the ankles in the playoffs, no one care that we had Peters or Mair. Stupid players are always gonna take runs at your best players. There is no such thing as a deterrent
- jcragcrumple

Peter's and mair were on the bench when the good Sabres would get cheap shotted.

Maroon would be on the ice and actually be playing hockey. Averaging 22 goals a year on McDavid line.

What's sam averaging the past few years with eichel?

If they were constantly getting run and taking cheap shots I'd be with you. But I honestly can't think of any of them getting run at by anyone.

No, it's not, because the role of "protector" is an anachronism.

How can someone be protecting his teammates if he only plays 8 minutes a night? There are no heavyweight fights anymore, they're spur of the moment. If a guy is on the bench for 52 minutes he's not going to be on the ice to be there when poop happens.

Risto plays half the game, he's there for when stuff happens, which I can't remember the last time it did.

Signing a guy because he's "tough" is a stupid waste of money. Maroon had 44 goals, great, Jesus had over 200 points. Who benefitted from whom?

- Wetbandit1

That's an impressive % .

If we didn't have Wilson, I'd be fine with Maroon. He plays well McDavid. I think he'd be redundant and bad on this team. McCabe, Risto, and hopefully Bogo play enough minutes to be tough guys. You don't need face pounders, you just need guys to stick up for themselves.

I'm not sure if Reinhart can, but Eichel can stick up for himself. Okposo is plenty tough as well.

I want guys to put the puck in the net

Martin use to get 300 hits a year I believe that's why hes still in NHL

Reeves will soon John Scott and biznasty

There's 1 enforcer left yet your Theory is that this enforcer gets in the minds of hockey players and takes them off their game yet everyone else in the National Hockey League has gotten rid of all those bums
Why ?

Ryan Reeves just signed a week ago.

One of the best gms in the league signed him.

McPhee is wrong???, I'll trust his judgement on this one

McPhee did an excellent job assembling the roster, no question. He also traded a 1st, 2nd and 3rd (I think) for Tatar who was benched in the playoffs

How much is maroon looking for?
What's an overpayment?

Maroon is a good career guy. I liked him in Anaheim.
No mcwussy there

Hes no savior, but we have alot of small skilled young guys.

Risto is too busy chasing other teams stars

- Boss34

Did u get bullied as a kid or something?

Guys like Wilson that can actually skate & play are nice, but there’s not many of them

U don’t need to be “tough” like 10 years ago
The league is way more about skill & skating now

2 for 5 ish million

89 mentioned it the other day

We have room to overpay by a 1/2 million, plenty of cap space.

You know how annoying its gonna be when chara concusses mitts or dahlin.

Your gonna hate this arguement

- Boss34

Patrick Maroon is NOT going to frighten someone into not hitting one of our guys

Our wilson can hopefully play that role
Doesn't maroon put pucks in the net?

Guys like wilson are really nice. Cheap , cup winner.

you could lean a hockey stick against a garbage can and it would collect points from McJesus.

Like I said, I don't hate the idea, but I just don't see a fit on this team going forward. If we didn't have Wilson, yeah I would do it. If he wanted a 1 year deal, I'd be interested in him

Something to ponder ...

We have Jack....

Caps have OV.

How long did it take for OV to win the cup ?

Let that sink in a bit.

Maroon
178 points in 375 nhl games
146 points even strength

McDavid played a part, for 2 years, but he's hardly just a goon

Ovi created all that space by himself.
