Some Sunday morning thoughts..


Some are saying we are a fringe playoff team this year, sorry I just don’t see it... we got rid of two of our top three player from last year... we replaced one with a 19. Yr old rookie. The other was replaced by 26 yr old Sheary. We added another 18 yr old rookie defenseman and a goalie... I think we will be better but I just don’t see playoffs in any way shape or form. Montreal, islanders and Ottawa all imploding will sure help the Sabres improving this year but that’s more about how they have run things, then us getting better... while I think we have some strong building blocks, we are still lacking a couple more big pieces, and time for this core to grow up.

82-84 pts is my guess as of now.
Better goaltending helps steal some points that were 1 goal losses last year.
More distributed scoring throughout the lineup...i.e. they fixed the bottom six.
Don't know the impact of some "kids" , does someone step up and grab a LW spot on the 1st or 2nd line ?
Can Housley and Hajt get the D to clear the D-zone more quickly and contribute to the Offense.
Can Risto clean up his defensive play? Can Bogo stay healthy? Does Dahlin transition quickly and effectively?

Where would you recommend? Traditional style sauce, med to hot and be able to sit down and drink beer.

For that style I like barbill.

To hate on duffs now is the trendy thing to do but their medium sauce wings are still solid (just pricey). Grover’s actually makes a solid song too.

Hole in the wall in Tonawanda but the Duece has great regular sauced wings.

Anyone know if PH is keeping all of his Assistant coaches from last season? I can't remember if anything has happened in that regard. I think one of the big problems was some of PH's Assistant coaches and if they are going to this extent to change the players on the team I'm not sure why they aren't doing the same with the Coaches. I know PH is staying but why are some of the others, if that is the case. The fact that you go from the best PP to one of the worst in a single season is definitely a problem. I don't think only the players were to blame for last season and not making any changes to the coaching staff would be a big mistake. I know they want to keep Phil but some of his Assistants had no business being on an NHL coaching staff and if changes aren't made all that is saying to the players is that they were the problem and coaching had nothing to do with how they performed last season.

-Running o'Rielly out of town ( kinda/sort of)

-Soon to be named captain
