I agree with playing Lucic with Strome, they both played much better together and they both need to be put in a position to succeed.
Its time the Oil ran lines with players that actually compliment each other, rather than playing guys in the top 6 to justify their ridiculous contracts!!
Rieder and Drai have shown great chemistry together on the world stage. I would really like to see them get a shot at playing together, but I'm not sure where that puts Puljujarvi though? Rieder is a LH, would he work on the left side of Drai??

Rieder has spent time with the Coyotes on the right side too. I am thinking one way or another Rieder starts the season on one side of Draisaitl. |

The #Oilers could re-sign Nurse at $4mil per on bridge deal; trade Lucic retaining $2mil per season and get zero in return. Then sign Maroon at $3mil per, then trade Kassian and bring in a forward that costs $1mil per season less. This leaves about $3mil in cap room for season.

It could be worse: he could be Dylan "AHL Super Star" Strome. |

I don't mind the deal. Couple things that messed with Strome is being the guy traded for Eberle and just learning a new system. He seemed to settle in okay toward the end of the year.
If he can get up over 40 points this will be a solid deal. |

Considering the money being given out to other players of similar or lesser ability (Nash, Jenner, Beagle, Ryan, etc), I have no qualms with this deal. If Strome can play a simple, low-event style alongside Khaira and someone with more speed (Aberg or maybe Yamamoto) and play a supporting role on both special teams, he should be good for his usual 35 points. If he can hit 40 or more, all the better! |
