For what it’s worth, neither Tyler Johnson or Ryan Callahan have been approached about their no-trade clauses. Callahan has a list of 15 teams he’d be open to going to as part of his contract. #TBLightning would have to create room for any potential deal for Karlsson.

Johnson has six years left at $5 million per, so the Rangers would have to decide whether they want to marry that player long term. I think Johnson is a very good player actually, but that term is long. The annual hit isn't that bad for what he brings. Not sure what to think about that one.

I don't know, I've been hearing people saying that for quite awhile and they really haven't lost anyone significant that didn't have an equally-or-better talented player behind them ready to step in. Maybe Yanni Gourde? But if Yanni Gourde is the cost of locking up a core of Stamkos/Kucherov/Palat/Johnson/Hedman/MILLER/Vasy/etc... then I don't think that's so bad.

Tampa Bay would be the gold standard of the NHL if they could manage to win a Cup. It's astounding that they haven't yet.
