Another handsome fella. - mdw7413
They got him for Sandström and Granato. Man I hated that deal, I loved both those guys. Little did we know he’d turn into Messier, so all was good |

I can't tell you how many people get stumped on the question of who last wore #11 for the Rangers before Messeir. The common answer is Kisio & it's wrong, it was someone else for a very brief time first before Mess. Know the answer Vin? - B2B76
Dude it was Graves

It was lol. Bernie Nichols wore 9 then was traded for messier. Messier took 11 and graves took 9 - Slimtj100
I think he was laughing cause he said "Jimbo would know" and you answer a second later. |

Used to call him Timex Sandstrom cause he would take a licking & keep on ticking. Until Dave Brown got a hold of him. |

It’s a tricky question. I could see people getting it wrong.

Its definitely one that has been asked or brought up here in the past on more than one occasion so anyone that's been reading or commenting on here for the past 3-4 years would have come across it a few times |

Favorite:
Tkachuk - Messier - Howe
Lidstrom - Borque
Hasek - MiloslavHorava
Remember, Milo, it doesn't have to be the "best", & then likely, some of the longest tenured players. So I will go instead with a long time Rangers fan's nightmare of a "favorite" (sarcasm), due to their very little time as a result spent with them, but in only considering the "H's".
Heath - Holst - Heaslip
Hamrlik - HOROVA ... (just joking, Milo, since I meant "Hurlbut" there.)
Hirsch
In only kidding you, Milo, as to Horova being there, Mike Hurlbut fits that "H" means much better. Hurlbut after selected in 1988, only played in about 1/4 a season's worth of games with the Rangers, prior to being dealt to the Quebec Nordiques for the late, Alexander Karpovtsev, before the start of the 1993/94 Cup winning season. And I'm sure you know that Horova at least played in about a season's worth of games in 3 years with them, and was acquired in part from Edmonton in the multi player trade that sent Rangers' fans favorite in d'man, Reijo Routsalainen in part to them. |

I go back to 1968 as a very young child during the "EDDIE" days in goal, and as a result, am only 1 for 4 in seeing them win in the Finals.
Imagine Reijo if he were playing in his prime today, and being able to fly even faster on the ice, and making those twirling moves, due to the much lighter weight skates, as well as every piece of equipment that's used today. And don't forget his hard & accurate slap shots off passes on the fly from the point, in using the heavier wooden sticks of back then, that would also excite Rangers fans back then. |

I’ve told this story before but, my first jersey was Barry beck and I wanted routsalianen but back then they charged per letter for the sewn on jerseys...so I threw a fit wanting him and my dad was like “your getting beck god damn it, wether you like it or not!” |
