I'm not sure this statement is actually true at this point. Schenn finished with 70 points last season, tied for 34th in the league in scoring. I guess if you are making this argument about Schenn you'd also have to conclude that Couturier (76 points, tied for 27th in the league) is a legit first line center. Also, the Blues were thought to have a ton of talent last season and yet were a major disappointment in not making the playoffs, finishing 24th in the league in scoring. In other words, the reason they didn't make the playoffs is because they couldn't score and Schenn has culpability for that. So perhaps, the idea that Schenn is a lock as the top line center might be a bit premature.

Would the Flyers be better right now if they had Schenn? Sure, but I think the idea that he is locked in as a first line center might be a stretch still.

Schenn added to the mix does not make the Flyers a Cup team. However the potential of adding top propspects like Frost might. Frost is 19. Schenn didn't play full time in the NHL until he was 20 and he didn't break out until 2 years later at 22 so Frost has some tme.

I haven't read anyone state that Giroux is no longer capable of playing center. I think the argument is that playing wing is less wear and tear on his body. Did you ever consider that playing the wing versus center could help him stay healthy and stay a top player longer?
