Yes it’s absurd. People that don’t think a sutter is a solid NHL player need to immediately quit watching hockey.

Absolutely agree, this is something that I have been stating long before Desjardins stepped on to the scene. Nuck4U would argue with me constantly on the talentless comment...it's a real word concerning the Canucks for sure.

Everyone has their particular players that they will never give credit to, Sutter has been one of those guys since he joined the Canucks, Bingo and Nucker were relentless in their criticism.

Sutter is a good player for what he brings, I like the 3rd line centre role and he plays it well.

Flame on boys...

BTW..General Manager Jim Benning is a genius, I’m sure no comment will be required.

Is there a way this can be enforced? Can we start a petition to have Lefty’s tv destroyed?

Flames Suck Ref...ask REdmile...lol

'Talentless'? Not sure I would go that far but it's close...more like 'role guys' or 'glue players'.

With our prospect rating finally respectable Boeser Pettersson Demko and host of other will change our 'talentless' tag...will just take some time.

Doesn’t kick in until next year. Both Kuch and stammer signed discount contracts. McDonough, Hedman, Stamkos, kucherov, serg, Miller and point are the new core. Everyone else is expendable and will be traded if need be.

I know but they only have 12 NHL players signed next year, time to move salary I guess.

your hate of Sutter is matched only by your hate of players below 6’. You’re going to get a lot of both, and I’m guessing heart issues the next 3-4 years
- neem55

I don't like short players if they're not really talented. We only have short talented kids

He's ok, certainly nothing special! He makes 125k less than Kadri who plays a similar role but scores 30 goals and 50-60 points in the process.

Kadri gets double the Ozone starts though.

With the amount of talent they have locked down they can fill all the slots with any cheap players wanting a shot at the cup

Kadri is underpaid. If Sutter was a UFA this summer he would have been paid handsomely.

Definitely. I honestly can't see how even with Tavares the leafs have higher odds at the cup right now. Center of the universe bias I guess

Sutter is perhaps a bit overpaid for his talent level, but he is paid appropriately for the role he is being asked to fill

They could get what he does for half the price, but it doesn't really matter with an 80 million dollar cap.

I don't think they could... Look at Beagle. He can't do what Sutter does and he gets paid 3 mil

Perhaps a poor example

Do you know any shutdown 3rd line Cs who make 2.2 mil or less and are as good as Sutter?

Sutter signed his deal when the cap was 70 million, its now 80 million, of course he'd have been offered the money he makes now if he was a ufa. Simply means he was grossly overpaid by Benning when signed his deal.

I used "grossly" for my usual dramatic effect btw

I'd have to go back three seasons when he signed his deal. I'm not doin that Mr.

Rackell makes a million less and plays behind Getzlaf and Kesler, plus he scores a lot more.
Faksa makes 2.2 million.
Berglund makes 3.8 million.
Coyle makes 3.2 million.
Lowry makes 1.1 million but is about to sign a new deal.
