I thought you said Hughes was signing a contract - NorthNuck
I said he will make a decision and I would not be surprised if he signed. If he in fact did sign they would then not bring in Juolevi |

Why should they be in Van? - CanuckDon
Because they are both mature enough and have enough hockey skills to handle it. You only become the best by playing against the best. They're not 18/19 year olds just out of junior they've both played against men, bringing them into the NHL won't ruin them. |

Granlund as second line center will award us Jack Hughes.
Gawd man . What a sh1t roster . Even Sutter as 2 nd line center is horrible. Bo should be the teams second line center with a Now Hiring ad hanging outside Rogers arena - VANTEL
I think Granlund will be much better not being in a checking role.
I want Jack Hughes.
We are the early favourite to be the worst team in the league and I dont think its close.
We will get our #1 center in the upcoming draft. This next draft is absolutely loaded with centers in the top 10.
To me we need to do whatever we can to get a top pair right defenseman. Use all tradeable assets to get that and then use our 1st this year for a center and we are covered everywhere and every position.
Then we just have to wait a couple years for guys to get older and develop. |

Sutter, Granlund and Gaunce "were" the 4th line. Dowd signed elsewhere, Mott will play in the AHL, likely for ever. Making these guys your 3rd line because you over paid "real" 4th line NHLers isnt going to stop this team from taking a beating in my opinion.
If they move Gagner and Eriksson, I'll shut up about it - 1970vintage
Sutter gets your hate for him
Price or skill, what is your whim?
But he played the second most minutes for a center last season.... so he's not a 4lc |

Yeah it's early for him, a year is good for him, the guys I mentioned have two and three years under their belts. - LeftCoaster
Not worth the risk IMO.
Much greater risk with a small player. There is zero negative in him returning. |

this is a pointless argument. Doesn't main camp determine exactly what you guys are trying to debate about? |

I think Ottawa might have something to say about that |

In what way are they not ready? Because Gaudette didn't score a goal every single game he played last year? |

Maybe, maybe not, but if Dahlen, Petterson, Gaudette, Joulevi and Hughes all prove they are ready to play in the NHL then what? |

Because they are not ready - VANTEL
Says who? Gaudette played well and got better every game last year, offensively he's probably the Canucks second best center. Why not see what he can do at the NHL level. If he has a good camp there's no way he shouldn't be on the team.
Juolevi same deal, good camp and he should be on the team. |

Then Pettersson and Hughes will be played in the NHL and the rest will go to Utica anyways because there are no spots left. They're all filled up by the UFAs we signed this summer. |

He didn't play bad , he didn't do anything special . You can let him develop on the Canucks playing 10 minutes a night with protected minutes or you can let him play top line PP1 PK1 18 minutes a night on Comets |

Camp is important but it's more than that, from my experience, a good recent history will buy you a longer look. Gaudette I think deserves a look, same with Juolevi as he took some nice steps last year. |

Against lesser competition and with different linemates than he would have in the NHL |

You cant rebuild in 3 years especially when you dont do it properly like this management group has been doing. The moves they are making are delaying this team ever been competitive. |

Look at how his contract is structured.
He won't play year 4 and I'll be surprised if he plays year 3 for us
His contract pays him 1.2m in year 4 after July 1, when he'll be traded to Ottawa to save them real money. |
