Because they are both mature enough and have enough hockey skills to handle it. You only become the best by playing against the best. They're not 18/19 year olds just out of junior they've both played against men, bringing them into the NHL won't ruin them.

AHL is a big step from the NCAA and tier 2 SWE. If they earn it great, if they don’t? No gifting spots. For the record I think Gaidette and EP earns spots but don’t think Dahlen is ready.

The point I am trying to make, and I don't have a problem admitting it now, is that after Boeser first played 9 games at the end of his career/season with North Dakota, that despite scoring 4 goals in 9 games, I thought his skating and defense needed work, and was open about my want for him to go to Utica. In hindsight, after what he did, I could not have been more wrong.

I think its pointless for any of us to try and translate what any prospect has done in junior, or in a different league, and make a sure bet (either for or against) or them to make the club or not, because its completely up in the air. Main camp IMO is the best way for everyone to see where they are at.

We are the early favourite to be the worst team in the league and I dont think its close.

We will get our #1 center in the upcoming draft. This next draft is absolutely loaded with centers in the top 10.

To me we need to do whatever we can to get a top pair right defenseman. Use all tradeable assets to get that and then use our 1st this year for a center and we are covered everywhere and every position.

Then we just have to wait a couple years for guys to get older and develop.

You could just as easily put the three new guys in this same category. None of them are impact players. I have nothing against these players, or their contracts, what I'm disapointed with is that the organization keeps saying one thing and doing another.

I also don't like that Benning paid top dollar for average players. Rick D keeps going on and on about the market, and how many teams. There were 20 smarter GM's out there on July 1st, and 10 who got lucky they picked Vancouver. It's like fighting over a big screen TV at Wallmart on Black Friday when instead you could have just shopped online and got the same deal.

4 years isnt long term and this team continues to get faster and younger regardless of the false narrative. The Sedins are out of the top 6. Our top 6 just got a whole lot faster on that alone. EP is making the team Im sure of it... he's faster... Hughes may make the team but he'll be here soon one way or another. Some scouts say he can skate in case you havent learned.

Camp is important but it's more than that, from my experience, a good recent history will buy you a longer look. Gaudette I think deserves a look, same with Juolevi as he took some nice steps last year.

For a team as bad as the Canucks I think it's time to see what a few of these kids can can do at the best level, give em some minutes. As I mentioned, I though Gaudette created some good looks at the end of last season and he got better every game.
