Maybe you would have turned out smart and skinny if you had a mentor
- CanuckDon

I did have one, a very smart man from southern Saskatchewan. I worked with him in Canada and he also gave me my first overseas job. Taught me a lot about work and what to do financially.

He's 70 this year and long retired. Him and his wife actually have a place at Grayhawk where we have a winter home. His son is a commercial pilot and his daughter is a lawyer....that family has their poop together (50 years married) and he loves beer more than me

Ok your turn...

Yes, it sucks those guys are in the top 6, but that will not be fixed until we have some prospects develop into top 6 players, something that will potentially be delayed by the 8000 players we have in our bottom 6

Do you remember when COrrado got claimed off waivers? It's going to be 10x worse...

You are worried about Hutton being claimed off waivers

Please take him . Who gives a rats ass about a guy that was a healthy scratch for a good part of last year

Believe it or not, players playing in the NHL can be considered as "developing"

I think the bigger problem is having Eriksson Sven and Granlund in your top 6

I really think Benning has done a piss poor job of building, for his first 4 years.

He has signed and traded for nothing but bottom 6 players. The real bittom 6 players he signed this year is not the problem it is the bottom six players he acquired and placed them in the top 6

- VANTEL

His drafting has actually been ok, where he (frank)ed up is trading young players he drafted, and draft picks trying to get ahead.

How many 2nd and 3rd round picks has he dealt with nothing to show for them.

His drafting was just okay. Canucks drafting took a huge step forward when Brackett took over.

despite the fact that I have been insanely open about my criticism of Benning for doing what you just mentioned above, and the fact that I think McCann and Forsling are going to be good players.... You gotta let this stuff go man lol

I am not. I wasnt worried about Frankie, I wont be worried about Goldy. But this group right here has some prone to react strongly one way or the other. For a rebuilding team, loosing "young players" for nothing at the cost of retaining old players, who under perform for the $ they are paid doesnt sound like a successful strategy.

Just stating facts, or my opinion which are my facts lol, the team would have been better off if they just said (frank) it, this team needs to rebuild....but they didn't and they continue to refuse a full rebuild. Thus it looks like a long term plan they're on, which isn't really a plan. You're not rebuilding with less than your seven allotted picks.

I honestly couldn't care that Pudge is young. He was a Gillis pick . I didn't care that Corrodo was scooped up either. He never did FA as a NHL player. If some other team wants to go dumpster diving and scoop up our garbage well God Blesss Them.

People who think players don't get better, or develop their game, at the NHL level aren't paying attention. Players always improve with experience, doesn't mean they score more points but their game as a whole really improves....and usually their points too. But not always.

You can't have 23 guys learning the game at the same time. We already have a young team

It is the same thing every summer. There is literally nothing going on in the hockey world . Most GMs are vacationing so we make up our own discussions. It is just friendly banter .

I think the Canucks have one of the oldest teams but we'll see what camp brings. I'd like to see two or three kids make it.

literally no one is actually freaking out, or coming close to it. Pretty civilized compared to 75% of the other boards
