My quote was “on a few teams”.

You said he was a 3 on only 6-8 teams. My point was he’s also a 5 on a few.

He’s in the middle. A good, young 3-4

Agree to disagree
Regardless of his ranking, risto is fun to have on your team. He can be a liability in his own end.

But he has a great rare combo of toughness and scoring

How many games do you go to a year?

Risto is fun too watch. He's aggressive, he clears out the net. He zones in on other teams stars.

And he puts up points

I would be shocked if he gets traded this offseason

Yeah, like I said, contrary to popular belief, I don’t hate Ristolainen

Good, I really like his game.

This is a big year for him. He's gonna be picking up some serious points this season on the pp. We have some skilled players finally. Secondary points seam like a fantasy hockey pick

Very curious to see how he responds to not being the #1 guy, losing some ice time and PP time, etc. He doesn't strike me as a guy who's going to take that very well. Hopefully it pushes him.

So because he doesn't play for the teams with arguably the best defense corps he's a #5? What kind of logic is that?

He is absolutely among the top 60 defensemen in the league. He has not "regressed", neither has he, really, gotten a ton better in the past 2 years.

I think it depends on how quickly Dahlin progresses and who his partner is.

I think Risto still might play too many minutes again this year

I don't expect a huge drop, but the PP minutes should drop. Anyone's guess who gets the big ozone and dzone faceoffs as the season goes on, and how often they play together.

What if they keep risto-s time up, and have risto or dahlin on the ice most of the game?

Interesting take

Don't think it can really go to that extreme, as it puts the 3rd pair on the ice for only 7 minutes a night. Cutting Risto a few minutes, and playing them somewhat equal is certainly possible. Someone is always the go-to in key situations though, and that will be fun to keep an eye on.

Agreed. If nothing else, should help take some pressure off to be the man all the time. He’s a fine 2-3 on this team and a good one on a good team. Defense doesn’t matter much when forwards push the play.

My dudes, just saw replay of Chiefs/Titans playoff on NFL Network. Forgot what a beast Henry was in that game. Can’t wait to make him my RB2 in fantasy this year. Lewis doesn’t scare me away.
