Some guy thinks Sam is going to get 10 million a year because he has the same point total as Jack eichel
Smh |

The prospect of Skinner playing LW with jack is growing on me.
I think that if we could get a top 4 RD in addition to Skinner, we could be pushing for a wildcard spot if we have a breakout season like the Leafs did a couple years ago |

Gerbe, now were fine with the McDavid of defenseman
Yesterday we were bottom 3 next year?
I see how you "stay right"

Tell me Guhle wouldn't be a better scoring winger than Wilson - jcragcrumple
The guy had a career high of 13 g and you want to make him a winger I could understand if he had 30 goals or something like that
I would rather have him in Rochester on the top pair then waste him away on the wing |

How would be the 2nd best LW if he's never played LW ?
You almost got me with your fish hook - gerbe75pts
Here's the thing, if Guhle isn't cracking your top-6 in D, why wouldn't you use him at forward? Did you watch him in the prospect 3-on-3? He's a beast in the offensive zone. It's not like he's gonna forget how to play defense either.
We're weak at LW, and surprisingly deep at D. Its a good way to keep him on the roster. God knows we could use the speed on the wing.
Wasn't his career high in goals at defense though? Pretty sure he would score more with Mitts |

If this was a thing every NHL coach will be doing this
The last players that have done this are back on defense Brent Burns and Dustin Byfuglien
Can you name me some others and then maybe your Idea might work |

Markov was drafted as a forward, Nathan Paetsch, Nic Deslauriers. Wendel Clark, Lindy Ruff, Burns, Byfuglien |

Loved guhles speed at the prospect tourney, but remember it's a prospects camp, he's the oldest one there and should stand out from everyone else, he's also never played forward (that I know).
I'd think that would be a hard transition for him, since he's not even a regular in the nhl yet.
Kills me to say but I agree with gerbe he's much better off playing 20 mins a night on the top pair in Rochester. |

If guhle is good enough to crack our forward line up, wouldn't he replace bogo, scandella or McCabe first?
We know dahlin, risto and Nelson are safe
Guhle is going to be playing top 6 defense for the Sabres this season. How many guys need a 4th year to develop in the minors when the big club finished last?

If they're good with
Scandella-Risto
Dahlin-Bogo
Mccabe-Nelson
Hunwick
I think Guhle could easily be used as a utility man in the lineup. His skill and speed should be used, regardless of positionality. |

He should be getting top pairing minutes in Rochester you got a promising d let's not screw with his head and make him learn a whole different position when he's already Superior at 1 |

Your argument is basically "he learned french, so if you teach him German, he'll forget his french." Maybe some time spent at a different position would give him better insight into his original position, should he return there |

When your on defense you get to see the whole ice and you have freedom when you're a forward you have limitations that's the number one reason why Brett Burns and Dustin Byfuglien wanted to go back to defense
I just think if this was a great idea a lot of other NHL coaches would be doing that with their promising prospects at defense why isn't Carolina doing this? Or other teams that have stacked prospects in the AHL that are D |

I gave you 2 examples from the Sabres in the past 10 years: Paestch and Deslauriers. Not to mention two former coaches of the Sabres - one current. Andre Markov did the reverse. Byfuglien and Burns. That's plenty of examples

Adding Guhle to the forwards doesn’t make sense to me
We already have 15 forwards
And Guhle looks to be a pretty good defenseman
Maybe Beaulieu to forward?
But again, we already have 15 guys up front

That's where we're going with Nathan paestch Nick and deslauriers this is what gets me so excited about this idea ...
I don't get what's the point of turning him into a wing he has top pairing potential and you want to turn him into a wing for one year? Your basically putting back a year of his development when he could be in Rochester on the top pair
I would understand the solution if we had Nashville's defense and he's never going to have a shot ..
I just think it's selfish to ask a person to switch their position when they've been playing defense all their life unless he's the one that wants to do it |
