Darcy ruined Grigorenko. Girgensons was what he was. He was fine his full first year. - jcragcrumple
You say that but I believe with better development they could have been better players and who knows what they could have been
If Gus would have gone to college his game might have developed he might have been a Ryan Kesler type he was supposed to be
I just think development is very important to players to reach the next level as many know I hate the AHL I would rather have players develop in college or overseas |
|
|
|
I hope they send him to ahl he needs more development
But people are going to say he can develop in the NHL that didn't work for Gus or grigorenko imagine if Gus took a different career path of development maybe he would be better - gerbe75pts
Let's see what he does in camp. I think he'll get a crack with Jack or Casey very early on.

I mean my takeaway if he doesn't want to be in Columbus for the rest of his life why would he be in Buffalo?

I think Guhle would be a better scoring LW than Girgs, larsson, wilson, maybe Bailey and Sobotka. Like I said, if they're fine with
Scandella-Risto
Dahlin-Bogo
Mccabe-Nelson
Hunwick
Why wouldn't you utilize Guhle's speed, skill and a bit of ruggedness when your left wing sucks and he shoots left? It doesn't have to be forever, but this team is better with Guhle on it, and if the only place for him is on wing, that's fine. He won't forget how to play D
Sheary-Eichel-Okposo
Guhle-Mitts-Reinhart
Looks a lot better than Wilson there
It also opens up a 3rd line of
Wilson-Berglund-Erod
It spreads speed around better - jcragcrumple
MAYBE
But it’s still stupid (sorry, it is) to move around a guy who projects as a top4 defenseman
Look what putting Sam at Center did to the first half of last season
Look at how Grigorenko was developed incorrectly
We don’t need to be f#cking up Guhle’s development just bc we don’t have a good LW option right now
Makes MUCH more sense to just give all the you kids who have been playing forward a chance
No offense dude,
it’s just a really bad idea imo |

Still betting on a LW trade, even if it's of the minor variety, a prospect flip or something along those lines. I think they see Thompson with Eichel, and want to get a good look at it. If it's better to give him some time in Rochester, no big deal.

Yeah, it's a long shot idea. I still think there's a 0% chance of Guhle being in Roch this year. He's exactly what Housley wants in a D man.
I also don't think it would screw with his development at all.
It's not gonna happen, but I don't think it's crazy.

So I think we would be in the same situation |

The question is who ? If we cant trade the conditional picks who else has value besides McCabe but then you're trading for potential to be a top-six forward winger imo and not a sure thing |

Risto FINALLY has a real defensive partner.....why would he want to leave now?
And I'm sorry...this whole "uncoachable" line just seems like bullpoop "Fake News" media speculation. |

Vogl
Risto's) almost always one of the first off the ice and one of the first out of the building. He would help the team more by hanging out with teammates on and off the ice. There just seems to be no accountability for a guy who has lost his whole career, and other players see that."

Idk how u can say that?
The last thing u wanna do when developing a young talent is be switching him around to different positions
Just give guys like Bailey, Baptiste, Nylander, Olofsson, etc etc a shot
Guhle is gonna be a top4 defenseman for us at some point
U don’t take him & ask him to learn a new position, let alone in the top6
Heck... Berglund or E Rod at LW makes a million times more sense even
I get where you’re coming from
But you’re really far out there imo sir

Ya...it sounds like a journalist doing what journalists do best....make mountains out of molehills to create a story.
MAYBE Risto was just sick of dealing with a bunch of players who don't give a poop about winning.

Not directed at yoh specifically.
Team has sucked for years, finished 31st last year, his game has regressed, so he didn't help the situation. Then puts in minimal effort to help correct the situation.
No leadership, no accountability, a true culture oif losing.
I wouldn't be crying IF they ever dealthim...assuming they got fair value in return.
At the same time, I'd like to give him a new start with a new locker room to see what he can do.
Definately not part of the core if he continues to be difficult, aloof as reported now by three of the local media types who cover the team daily. ... but hey, Buzzards know better from behind their computers, smh. |

You have it backward.
Good attitude breads winning.
Even if what you say is right for some players, are those the type to build a team with...only pkkay well when winning...crumble like stale cookies when confront with an adverse environment ... like needing to wing game 7 after losing game 6.
Nope, not FOR me.
Bring me the Messier types who will their team to win. |

That's why I think it will be more of a minor trade. Something like flipping Baptiste for a LW prospect. Now that the draft has passed and RoR is gone, dealing for a legit top 6 get tougher by the day.
I agree that McCabe + doesn't carry much value.
