To be fair, signing Oshie and trading Johansson was pretty stupid even if it did work out this year. |

"Pretty thin" is a comment they make about their theory on what crime happened, and had nothing to do with Murtaugh's retirement plans. And was the original Lethal Weapon, not 3. Unless I'm forgetting a call back to it in 3? - Antilles

Don’t get me wrong, there have been some flagrant misuses of stats by tanner, but I like the opinionated stance and tone — do you want game recaps? Go to tsn. Or better yet, the magical wonder of video highlights. I think tanner is correct that the caps reached a little with their win this year, but maybe he underestimated ovi in beast mode. Who knows, maybe they don’t make the playoffs next year. I like the Hail Mary “oshie should be taken out back and shot” comments because they at least give us something to talk about. It’s JULY. |

The caps beat the pens ( sorry for the mental lapse with the leafs before) and lightening- two of the heavyweights and favorites to in it all. We don’t give Vegas enough credit for getting where they did because of th expansion label. They were amazing all season and postseason.
Caps won the cup legitimately and with as much honor and pride in getting there as could be had. I don’t for a second agree they reached. |

Man, the NHL is a crap shoot. It's a parity filled cap league where everyone but the top and bottome five teams is a crap shoot to make the playoffs. The Capitals had one of the worst off seasons in NHL history last year and just won one of the flukiest Cups ever.
TJ Oshie was a TERRIBLE signing. Kuznetsov, I'll admit I may have been wrong on that one, but my point was that instead of using the rest of your cap on him, you could turn him into three or four young players. Still don't think that was a bad idea, given that the team should by all rights have missed the playoffs.
And Barry Trotz is not a really good coach. - james_tanner1
What Trotz did for years with the preds is remarkable. He made lemonade from limes for a decade or more and his win% still rocked. He lead the caps to league leading records and fell against the cup winning pens twice. Then he won the cup, preds style, with less talent than most have. How is he not a good coach?

That conclusion.
Any stats out there to confirm your assessment? How am I helping u pay for stuff? Lost me on that one. - rinaldo
it's called "narcissism". Pretty sure if you look up the definition you'll find a pic of JT in most modern dictionaries. |

Say what you want about me, but leave the dictionary picture jokes back in 1985 where they belong. I mean, not only is the joke lame and cliched and just not funny, but there aren't even pictures in any dictionary. |

Well, win percent doesn't mean anything because there aren't ties anymore.
Yes, he has made this argument. And will almost surely reply defending it further. |

JT's blogs are purely for entertainment value. Nothing in his content need be taken seriously. Every entry from JT is a calculated attempt to stir the pot of senseless poop that he perpetuates on a daily if not hourly basis.
The "stances" and "tones" are merely an act. He's playing a role and he's been very successful at it.
So kudos to JT for maintaining a constant click bait blog that is continuously followed by all of his love/hate HB members. |

This is the 2018 way in which we disparage things we don't agree with. We just assume that everyone who has a different perspective has something wrong with them, or some kind of weird ulterior motive, because we don't want to think another person can think the opposite as we do and still be an intelligent person.
If you haven't noticed, a lot of what you're supposed to take seriously is terrible. This blog doesn't take itself seriously and its aimed at people who want to think about things in different ways. It is not written to get a reaction of the five people who live in the hockeybuzz forms.
I do see how it's convenient to see someone with new ideas as a 'troll;' it's happened at every point in history whenever people learn new things.
in complete denial about how the NHL has evolved over the last five or ten years. I certainly do not write for their reactions. That's loco. |

The fact that you present new ideas is not why anyone sees you as a troll. Far more to do with the fact that you frequently double down on an idea you present when it's been overwhelmingly proven to be a bad one.

Because he benched a few players that Tanner didn't think should be benched, Despite having absolutely no inside knowledge as to why the moves were made.
Now if you read the rest of the blog and notice Tanners response to someone calling him a troll, You will also get a lesson of someone being a hypocrite. |

I guess it pays to play players that are not good, best team in hockey does it year after year. Imagine if they had DSP and Orprik on their team....they wouldn't even make the playoffs I bet. |

Considering you have children an apparent struggle with alcohol addiction and a backyard that suggests you live a townhouse I'm sure he doesn't feel bad contributing a few cents to the peanuts you make posting blogs to a hockey gossip site - sensmelon
Nope!
The amount he makes off this doesn't even pay for his cigarrette's!
But he again wants to look down his nose at everyone else! |
