He isn't very tall. He's listed at 6-0" 200. He is built like a tank and it's obvious he's had plenty of time to get stronger in his 4 years at Harvard.

As far as speed; he's very fast. While he isn't the most gracious skater and it doesn't always look pretty, he has good edge work, and has a very quick first step. So to answer your question, his speed will definitely be an asset to the Sabres.

In today's NHL you have to "play a fast game." Not "play the game fast."

Malone's a Harvard kid. Especially after the trade with the Blues brought in Berglund and Kamchatka, he's going to be in ROchester for a while. But, as long as his skills keep developing, he can play a fast game through intellect, even if he's not as fast and Bailey or Jack.

You're absolutely right. Odd time for this too, because I was down at the 11-Day-Power-Play earlier today to show support for the WGR/Entercom team, and you really appreciate how fast NHL players really are after watching 'regular' people skate.
