I'm a Long Island guy through & through & I couldn't believe the amount of people on my FB feed that were at that concert, so many different types too. I'm so out of touch but didn't realize FF has such mass appeal now. They are like the go to Rock band now in mainstream music. I don't mean that as a diss (I don't really like or dislike them) at all, just was amazed at how many peeps were there.

It was their first playing there. Going to MSG tomorrow. Fuuuuucking awesome concert. Dave Grohl is amazing musician and is hilarious on stage. Travolta came on stage (douche, but still cooll) Basist played a Grease riff, and he strolled on stage wearing leather biker jacket. Chilli Peppers drummer played a Bowie song, with the singer from the Struts. Grohl was drummer for Nirvana too. Guys a legend in my mind

Sound is never the best at Jones Beach Theatre, but atmosphere is da best.

Damn, I guess Eddie Trunk was right in that video my brother posted lol. Grohl is THE GO TO guy nowadays, the flag waver for rock music. Not a bad thing at all in this age of pop & weak hip hop music.

Dam right!

"Everlong" was written by him in 99. He made song on his own in studio. He played all the instruments.

When you check out their songs, you realize how many of them are so easy to recognize.

Last few albums are ehh, but they played majority of "old" stuff. Guess its kind of hard to write killer songs for over 20 years

He goes "get Gene Simmons or Steven Tyler in there (grammys) " LOL, like those guys are relevant anymore.

Grohl is into Motorhead & Slayer too, guy is a machine, plays anything and is a great ambassador for Rock & Roll, something we need nowadays.

I'm into so much rock & metal & etc but never really got into them, like most songs I've heard. Just never sat down & put on a FF record. My friends wedding song was the acoustic version of Everlong.
- B2B76

Their first few albums were good.
Kid and I saw Slayer and Anthrax at GSAC in June.

Definitely went to Bob Mould's guitar school. I think one of his highlights was playing drums for "New Day Rising", he was so pumped to get to jam with his idols. Speaking of that, ever hear his Probot album? Check it out, Brian.

He comes across as really cool, down to earth and grateful to be living his rock and roll dream. Good for him.
Have you seen the video of them on a flatbed trailer at a protest? Hilarious!

You could be right. Just learning about the particulars. Always loved the music, but didn't know much about history, besides Grohl..of course

Was lucky to see Metalicca play with NY symphony harmonic at MSG. Really gained appreciation for their actual musical ability and genioius

I still see hardcore and grindcore shows, and I'm 48. We're going to see (frank) It, I Quit on Saturday night. If it's too loud, you're too old. I do wear earplugs, though since I'm older and wiser.

Oh, and I can still hold my own in the pit with most of these kids. I learned at early hardcore shows.

Their first drummer was the guy from Sunny Day Real Estate until he blew his shoulders out from really bad form. Check out their Pink Album, great drumming.

I’ve always been pretty diverse with music tastes, but metal and rap never made the cut. Not as gay as Jimmy tho, and his Bread fetishes
