I think it's the wording that's getting you tangled. If you said a good prospect, not great, you'd be fine. "Decent" sounds like he may not even make the big leagues, when he's already played in them at 20 yoa.

Middle 6, hopefully can pot 15-20 a season regularly. He's a "good" not "great" prospect. Sorry for nitpicking.

Baptiste had 7 goals in 36 AHL games as a 22 year old. I'm pretty sure you view him as better than a C prospect.

You called him a 'decent' prospect. That's a C to me. Whatever you consider Baptiste, Thompson is a full grade ahead.

Murray doesn't deserve to be villified for Pastranak, but as a scout, he deserves some criticism for Draisaitl

No, there's 1 player better than him that could've even been entertained to be taken at that spot. And I'm not convinced Draisaitl is "ZOMG King Leon" either. It's not Jordan Staal's fault that Giroux is way better than him, and no one is saying that Giroux should've gone 2nd.

But Stafford’s downfall kind of dillutes his first few years that are comparable to Sam

It's a very practical way to look at it, but it won't be that clean. Someone is going to impress and push for a spot, and a few players will get hurt.
