The Sabres are going to give reinhart an 8 year deal👌👌👌
- Boss34

If they gave him the same deal Henrique just got I wouldn’t be opposed to it.

Doesn't 5 years leave sam as a ufa at 26? Maybe 27.

Why not 2 or 3 years? Keep his rfa status.

Henrique is better as well. Never played with a player as talented as eichel.

larsson goes on waivers

girgens is the 13th skater up front

- homiedclown

That still leaves:

Sheary-Eichel-Okposo
Berglund-Mittelstadt-Reinhart
Rodrigues-Sobatka-Pominville
Bailey- ________ -Baptiste
Girgensons

So ONE of those guys u mentioned would have to SIGNIFICANTLY outplay Rodrigues to knock him down to 4C
Otherwise,
Girgs or Larsson slot in there

Maybe u can make an argument for some of the guys on your list over Bailey &/or Baptiste... BUT...
1) the waiver thing
2) better for their development playing Line1 in Rochester than line4 in Buffalo
3) Botts wants Rochester to be good

So like i said...
guys like Smith, O’Regan, Thompson, Nylander, Asplund, etc etc
are gonna have to look REALLY REALLY good in Camp for Botts to even consider what you’re talking about
And even then...
it’s tough to see more than ONE guy from that list making the opening night roster

I think they’re ALL in Rochester unless there’s trades/injuries

botts got a good prospect
a first
a second
2 guys for the second/3rd line for ror

what was anyone expecting?

erik karlsson?

- homiedclown

A “core” player/prospect
Not a “decent” prospect (Thompson isn’t a “good” one imo after last season)

The (likely) late 1st is nice,
but that’s got maybe a 33% chance at becoming an impact player for us

The rest is all “meh”
Sobatka is a Cap dump
Berglund is a contract they also obviously wanted gone
2nd round picks amount to nothing A LOT more than they work out

I’d have been happy with:
Parayko
Sobatka (Cap dump)
Pick or someone like Fabbri for taking Sobatka AND
We pay the 7.5mil
And then if they wanted to get rid of Berglund’s contract too,
I’d have said ok if that’s what we needed to do to make it work

I think GMs value draft picks WAY too highly

3 goals in 41 games

He could still develop into something,
but that’s a heck of a speed bump for a “good” prospect
And it’s not like he lit up the AHL
He had 8 goals in 30 games
U think that’s “good” for someone who supposedly has that kind of shot?

I’m concerned
And i think that’s fair

Agreed. Regardless of how everyone feels about skunk, he has improved is point total every year in the league. The hard part will be figuring out where he plateaus.

One is 5 years younger. Younger players are getting paid more in the current league set up.
