Flames fans shouldn't be keen on trading for and signing Wilson to a larger contract given their lack of cap space. Did you learn nothing from Bouma?

WSH fans don’t seem to keen on signing Wilson for larger contract given there lack of cap space. Maybe they’d prefer cost certainty for a couple of years. Frolik and Hathaway as a cheaper less skilled Wilson type who is actually only a 4th liner, for Wilson. 👍

Isn't Frolic at 5 mil?

Missing time due to injury isn't really a positive thing. I think Monahan is better, but the stats are the stats. Both Monahan and Teravainen scored 64 points last year, which was a career best for both of them. It's also entirely possible that Teravainen scores more points than Monahan this year.

How the fck do you base this Tervanian as good or better than Monahan. Check the stats Monahan has scored 31,,27,27 31 goals last 4 years, Tervanian hasnt even come close. He did get the Aho bump last year because Aho is the real deal. Tervanian struggled along with Chicago, traded as part of a cap dump to Carolina & last year finally hit 23 goals. These arent even close to compare & one is a winger & the other is a centre. What a stupid argument.

Depends on what his asks are. Yes he’s ideal for a bottom 6 role but being able to play alongside Ovi in the POs and being highly effective would be nice to have. Do you remember the fight he and Bouma had? He rag dolled Bouma. He’s a capable scorer and has been in lower levels. Hence the 1st round pick. Bouma was never a scorer. Not even with the Giants in Jr

Monahan also has a much tougher work load than those guys who get spoon fed favourable matches and offensive starts

And Backlund's line is tasked with taking on the toughs in Calgary while Monahan's line is given more favourable matchups- as it should be. Did you forget that or have Flames fans been overhyping Backlund's shutdown ability and his line was instead getting caved by weaker opposition all year? Can't really have it both ways.

You're talking about his usage being all over the map, but he's going to have the exact same coach this year so why would you expect things to change.

People are also dreaming if they think he's going to get significant time with Gaudreau and Monahan. They just gave Neal a ridiculous contract. He's going to have to be a disaster on the top line to be moved off it.

The best fit for Lindholm would be with Bennett and Jankowski, but who knows if they're even going to be playing together this year.

Unless they do the smart thing and balance the lines with two strong lines instead of one really strong line and one shutdown. EL with SM and JG. JN with MT and MB
