- Symba007

It's actually just July Uggie vs. June Uggie (direct quotes).

Is UGtard’s obsession with player’s pajamas from the fact that he was SO WRONG about Tavares?

More on this developing story later.

- Steven_Seagull

I'm sure he's already admitted he was wrong, and apologized to everyone for his aggressive douchebaggery in the leadup to July 1st.

If he didn't then I'm sure he meant to. Sometimes you forget to do poop.

The sudden disappearance of UG has me worried he's crafting an epic 1 page response to why EK would make sense for the Leafs...

Brace yourselves...

I told all you guys he was coming, if they trade for Karlsson that's great.
But it better be Gardiner a 1st and a 2nd, not Willie.

Cost to leafs
Tavares- 11m

Karlsson - 11m + nylander + gardiner + possibly Hyman/brown + (Edit) and picks!?
This seems like an overpayment

How would they fit a Karlsson extension and a Nylander extension?

Panther were only offering pick and they want player for player type of deal and not because division rivals.
- zazzle

That's not what I remember reading.

From what I remember, they refused to deal with the Panthers, so they made the trade with San Jose, who then took the Panthers offer because.... well... it was better.

Gardiner is a pending UFA, might walk for nothing or get overpaid to stay. Hyman and Brown are replaceable. Marleau is going to retire anyway.

The only real cost is Nylander and he's going to eat up a big piece of cap space anyway, the Leafs are better off with the RHD Norris winner on their blueline considering their forward group is already strong.

Karlsson would take a discount to get out of Ottawa...he wants to play for a winner.

Nylander hasn't done poop in the NHL yet. He'll play for free.

If the offer is better than the other offers and helps them stay out of a lottery pick, they have to consider it.

It may have also been a Karlsson request that he not have to play against Hoffman because then his wife or whatever she is would be there too and Ottawa was trying to keep him happy, hoping they could re-sign him.

2 time RHD Norris winner.

That's 1 more than Doughty.

Nah. This is one of the very few things UG has ever been correct about.

Doughty > Karlsson

Not by his standards. Doughty hasn't won 2 Norris trophy's.

Of course they should, but Dorion pretty much flat out said he wouldn't trade within the division. I'm not even sure he took the time to listen to the Panthers.

And god knows it's not Boedker who's gonna prevent them from being a lottery team.

It may have also been a Karlsson request that he not have to play against Hoffman often (within the division means more often) because then his wife or whatever she is would be there too and Ottawa was trying to keep him happy, hoping they could re-sign him.

Well if that's the case, and I think your scenario is a little farfetched but oh well, it sure went great for the Karlssons!
