It would be a massive problem because if Nylander is to be acquired, you want him extended and if Nylander gets extended this year, Matthews and Marner need extensions next year. But if you move Nylander, the money he would make would go to Karlsson and then they can all fit.

So if that needs even more clarification, Nylander hasn't won poop. He's scored 60 two years in a row playing with Matthews and he has potential to score more in the future. But he's not an award winning type player. He's not better than Karlsson, especially for a team like the Leafs that have the offensive power but need help on the blueline.
