He’d burn a year off his ELC which means re-signing him to a bigger contract sooner, he’ll count against the contract limit, and he’ll be closer requiring expansion draft protection, whenever that may be coming. Unless he plays himself into a top-4 role with the Marlies, I think he’s going back to Sweden or the O.

I think I'd rather him play in the SHL. As long as he's capable of getting top 4 minutes. If not than I guess OHL would be best for him

He'll go on a Memorial cup run with the hounds, play the WJC, and develop like a normal 18 yr old. Let him prove his stats weren't a fluke last season. If he looks really good let him challenge for a spot with the Leafs in TC2019. Watching swedish dmen devolp can be exciting.. Some phenomenal ones have come later in the draft.
