We just sucked there was no tank
They would have made jack stay out for the rest of the year - gerbe75pts
I'm sure the union, Jack's agent and Jack's bonus beg to differ.

Pouliot was paid $60,526 per point.
Rick Nash was paid $229,412 per point.
Just gonna lob that one in there. - TheSabresTaco
Lob that at homie, he wanted rick nash.
So by not paying pouliot as much as nash proves we were trying to win?
You are really stretching this |

Also : beaulieu had 1 goal in 59 games
Pretty much any other player in the nhl would "undoubtedly " score more goals
The great benoit pouliot had 13 goals - Boss34
Pouliot was ok. Housley hated him. If ZG or Larsson scored 13 goals i would be elated |

Go ahead and find the badass on Pittsburgh's 2016 cup team. I'll wait.
And. AND. Getting rid of Dlo? Jesus, really? Zach Redmond helped this org infinitely more than (frank)ing DLo, and he barely played here. Carrier? An easy price to hang onto our goalie of the future. Yeah.
And Kane? Getting assets for a guy who's not going to re-sign here? Getting rid of a guy who didn't fit the new culture movement? Getting rid of a me first guy? Getting rid of a future 8x7 contract? Does this not make sense? |

Pouliot was here for depth. NHL. Depth. You can't possibly be serious here. If not Pouliot, tell me exactly who you were signing or bringing up instead. To not only try to win, but to not create some 8 year albatross on the cap. |

Interesting that C.J. Smith got the most money of the non-reinhart category of RFAs. That would seemingly make him a front-runner for an NHL LW position, if you believe in a correlation between pay and skill. NHL mock roster 84. Yes, Erod is not an ideal 1LW candidate

I get what you’re saying here,
but the dollar amounts are so close that i don’t think u can draw that conclusion
I think it’ll just come down to how they all play |

You forgot Wilson
Unless Girgs & Larsson (or 2 others) are traded...
I think Smith definitely starts in the ahl
And most likely Thompson as well |

I doubt Thompson starts in the AHL from the way both he and Botterill talked. |

This doesn't address my initial question. This isn't 1998. You don't need heavies to win.

He had a wet dream and (frank)ed it up with his drafting |

To replace pouliot:
We would have had to find a player who really doesn't seam to give a poop if he wins or loses. Someone who doesn't use his size or strength. Perfect fit.
He just proved with Edmonton that he was not a good hockey player and would be better to pay him, not to be part of the team
You must hate jbotts for the Sabres finishing in 30th by 5 points. If he was trying to win, he should be fired |

Correct me if I am wrong but since Glotov signed an AHL contract he would have to pass thru waivers if we wanted to bring him up to Buffalo at all this year correct? |

Ya'll are COMPLETELY sleeping on Olofsson and Pu right now. Even Nylander too.I'd bet a nut that at least 2 of the 3 of them start the season in Buffalo.
