Yeah like he has any chance of making the Sabres... he would have to be the best player on the ice every game in camp... 0% chance of that.
But thanks for the fan of the year!! - gordong
What ? He's been here 2 years lol
his rookie year and last year when he was hurt lol |

Trouba asking for 7 mil, let’s all take a moment to realize how valuable a player Nelson is at 1.625, unreal.

Should be interesting race for a LW slot between
Nylander
Smith
Bailey
And can these guys play the left, Sabres Prospects has them listed on the RW
Olofsson
Pu
Maybe Okposo swtches to LW and an opening is created on the right where they seem to have more talent brewing |

Stimson of The Athletic had a piece that projected likelihood of the propsects making it to the NHL based on a weighted multiplier based on the league they are coming from and their performance in that league...."eNHL"
For the Sabres...
Of the Forwards:
Olofson was rated the highest
Nylander was 7th laging behind,
-Asplund, Davidsson, Smith, O'Reagan, Thompson
Good news for Nylander was he was projected ahead of Bailey, Pu, Baptiste and others.
On D, Pilut was rated the highest followed by Dahlin (the new Skunk) and Guhle
If theses analytics-based projections are more accurate thannot, wow...did fhe Sabres do well in signing Pilut ... especially if Dahlin is the best rated D prospect entering the draft since Denny Potvin. |

Meh.
Technically he never said he is rooting against Nylander.
He could be like me in believing Nylander will never succeed in the NHL given his
-style of play,
- being a perimeter player
- complete lack of two way game
- disappearences for long stretches...games, not just periods in games
He is proving to be exactly who his scouting reviews said he was.
While I am hoping hard for him to make it and being that LW sniper they so desperately need...I just dont see it. I hope I am ded wrong.
With respect to Gerbe, he is off the charts in his excuse making for Nylander. It really is put up or shut up time for Nylander ... and I dont mean solely making it in the NHL out of camp ... he needs a very, very solid season in the AHL if he is sent down again ... he should have alot of talent around him down there, so all the excuses go away this time around. His stats toward then end of last year, including WJ's point to being a set-up man not a sniper...he may be misfit as a LWer.
I may just laugh at the insane boastfulness myself while I shake my head at the fact the Sabres once again got the wrong brother...lol. |

What if I told you that article was actually scoring comparisons to the NHL instead of likelihood to make the NHL?
And on top of that, the author even admits that the calculations are fundamentally flawed and don't take into account team and division success and style of play. Not to mention age of development. That's like the plus/minus version of calculating NHL equivalent scoring rates. |

honestly I have over looked all gerbe posts the last few days to get caught up in fish room
I feel shame
for Ozzy, always thought he should be in the hall of fame
3 cups
led the team for 2 of them
13th all time wins
28th in shutouts
ranks above vernon, fuhr, billy smith, barrasso in pretty much all stats - homiedclown
Osgood is so mediocre. If they ever let him in, just shut the thing down. It's the hall of fame, not the hall of good |

Did you miss the Gerbe jab?
Also Chris Osgood has been retired for 7 years and not in the HOF with 401 wins.

With none of the overall team success
Just goes to show it wasn’t really Osgood
He was good...
but when u watched him play,
Did u think “Hall of Famer” or not?
I sure didn’t
I don’t see the difference between him & Corey Crawford or Niemi if he had stayed with the Hawks
Good, but not Great - jdfitz77
I don't think fuhr was a hall of fame goalie, just happened to have "miller status" and won a bunch of cups
I will be curious if ozzy ever gets in, coin toss and I can see both sides of the coin |

Ok, however...
Article Title:
"The Sabres Prospect most likely to make the jump to the big club next season"
Quote in 2nd paragraph:
"Today I’m going to take a deep dive into comparing the rates of scoring among the Buffalo Sabres’ prospects and assess which players are most likely to make a successful jump to the big club next season."
Furthermore, the metric used were based on previous NHL players, what league they came from, their production in those leagues. Then using that as a baseline to project which prospect best line-up as LIKELY to succeed.
Nothing is guaranteed, and you are coreect in that it doesnt account for team needs/openings, style of play.
Of course, those can change rapidly and can be outdated when systems and coaches change and when GM's make trades.
Well, no crap.
No analytics are perfect, none....i never said this was accurate nor guaranteed...they are projections. |
